Title: Countdown to the End of the World
Characters: Theodore Nott, Draco Malfoy, Mrs Zabini, Blaise Zabini
Rating: G
Word Count: 1266
Warning(s): Allusions to zombies?
Summary: "How do we get there?" Draco asks the afternoon he nearly gets bitten on a food run. He swears up a storm and throws a hissy fit but Theodore makes him wait the requisite five hours anyway. Rules are rules, Theodore reminds him, earning only a stream of colorful curses from Draco. He doesn't stop glaring at him for at least an hour after he is finally allowed back in.
Author's Note: Written (and currently hosted at) [livejournal.com profile] hp_zombiefest. This fic takes place in the same universe as the fics I wrote last time, Dead Men Walking and The Quibbler's Guide to the Rising, though you don't need to read either to follow this one.

Title: we are not shining stars
Fandom: Harry Potter
Characters: Susan Bones, Ernie Macmillan, Zacharias Smith, Hannah Abbott, Megan Jones, Justin Finch-Fletchley
Rating: PG
Word Count: 2344
Summary: This was not how their last year at Hogwarts was supposed to go.
Additional Notes: Title taken from fun.'s Carry On, which could be a Hufflepuff anthem. Thanks go to [livejournal.com profile] ccharlotte for letting me email her bits and pieces of this before this was done, [livejournal.com profile] intrepidy for the beta, and Hufflepuffs for generally being brilliant. Originally written for [livejournal.com profile] hogwarts_houses and posted here.

( It is only the first week of the new term and Susan thinks they must have been right, must have known what was going to happen. Dumbledore is dead and Hogwarts, she hears, is surrounded by Death Eaters and Dementors. )

Title: Lady Luck
Fandom: Harry Potter
Characters: Cormac McLaggen, Katie Bell, various others
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 2304
Summary: His heart's in the right place. It's just his execution that leaves a lot to be desired.
Additional Notes: Do you ever get those days when you sit down to write one story and something else pops out? Yeah, that was this. Huge thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ccharlotte, always, and [livejournal.com profile] thegrownupthing for the beta. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] iulia_linnea for giving me an outlet to explore my Cormac feels and, of course, for organizing one of my favorite fests ever. Originally written for [livejournal.com profile] hogwarts_houses and posted here.

( Cormac is five the first time a girl clocks him in the head. )

I'm very staunchly a Harry Potter writer, or so I thought until lately, when more and more crossover-y things have been bleeding into my writing. It's difficult to take crossovers seriously, though, so I have decided not to. Thus, cracky crossover fics. :|

Anyway, just posting these here for posterity's sake.

Title: The Attack of the Venusian Cupidae
Summary: In which Mrs Zabini's multiple husbands are explained, and Blaise Zabini copes with being a wizarding timelord.
Characters/Pairings: Blaise Zabini, Mr and Mrs Zabini
Genre: Crack, Doctor Who Crossover
Rating/Warnings: PG-13
Word Count: 1778
Notes: From this post, mixed in with the [livejournal.com profile] hh_sugarquill prompt Cupid. So. This happened.

Blaise was five years old the first time his father died. )

Title: Martin Crieff, Ravenclaw
Summary: See title. :| Written for Isa.
Characters/Pairings: Martin Crieff
Genre: Crossover with Cabin Pressure, a radio play that's got Benedict Cumberbatch voicing the character of one Martin Crieff, pilot.
Rating/Warnings: none
Word Count: 2044

And Martin had gotten red, his cheeks burning bright and the nerves that often came to plague him in high-stress situations returning to fluster him so that he could barely get a word in edge-wise whilst Douglas then went on, in brilliant Holmesian deduction style, to all but nail Martin in his lies. )

Title: Iris Makes Love to a Kiwi
Summary: ....or: shenanigans that happen when Iris and Sas move into a London flat.
Characters/Pairings: Iris, Sas, surprise guests from HP! and other fandoms! Sort of!
Genre: Crack
Beta: I would never subject anyone to this
Rating/Warnings: I BLAME IRIS, SAS, AND ISA.
Word Count: 1575

'Character', as far as Iris was concerned, was an English word that meant, among other things: appearance, attribute, aspect, caliber, trait, type, ethos, personality. It did not, as far as she knew, mean 'a look of utter mess and dirt that must be cleaned up at once.' )

Title: Dead Men Walking
Characters: Harry, Luna, Theodore, Zacharias
Rating: PG-13 for violence
Word Count: 4521
Summary: Of all the things that she believes in, Luna Lovegood wants this on record: she is very sorry it's the zombies that turn out to be real.
Additional Notes: SO. MUCH. FUN. Written for [livejournal.com profile] hp_zombiefest and originally posted here. Thanks to C & S for their feedback, and A for the eagle-eyed beta job. ♥ Hope you enjoy reading!

It is in Harry Potter's humble opinion that he’s spent an inordinate amount of his life waking up in hospitals. )

Title: Hallowed Halls
Rating/Warnings: G
Characters/Pairing: Minerva McGonagall, Eleven, Amelia
Summary: The Doctor promised Amelia an adventure.
Word Count: 1234
Author's Notes: Originally posted for [livejournal.com profile] hh_writersblock here for the prompt Fandom Crossover. Wrote this in 30min, have only edited to add sorting information. This was one of the most fun to write out of all the [livejournal.com profile] hh_writersblock challenges I've done.

There is something strange going on at Hogwarts. )

Sorry, afraid this week is going to be a whole bunch of fic posts. I'll space them out so they're not spammy. <3

Title: Scenes from the Hufflepuff Common Room
Character(s): Pomona Sprout, various others
Beta Reader(s): [livejournal.com profile] jaggarte
Word Count: 2197
Rating: G
(Highlight to View) Warning(s): None..
Note: I wanted to write a story about the students, but Pomona became the best way to tell it. In the end though, I think she'd say this is still about the students. Written as a pinch-hit piece for [livejournal.com profile] hogwarts_houses and originally posted here. This was kind of hard to write--we know so little about the Hufflepuffs in general!
Summary: One day Pomona Sprout put up a bulletin board. Then her students made it their own.

'But Voldemort is far away, and the danger facing Hogwarts lives inside the castle walls.' )

Title: Stages
Fandom: Queer as Folk
Pairing: Canon
Rating: PG?
Word Count: 250 words
Summary: Michael's family is dying.
Additional Notes: [livejournal.com profile] ccharlotte was reading too many cancer!Brian fics. There's a logical connection there somewhere, I'm sure. :|

Michael's family is dying.

He doesn't think about it very often, though, if at all, because Ben works out, Hunter still outruns him by a mile, and they finished Liberty Ride together.

It's a thought that startles him when Hunter complains about the winter cold or Ben sneezes, and then he thinks about it, but only for a while.

Because when Michael imagines the future he sees him and Ben with white hair and grandchildren.

*

Michael's family is dying.

There was a draft in the apartment and nobody remembers anymore who left the window open, but three days in and Hunter's caught a cold.

"Here, take some vitamins," Michael says.

"Have some water."

"Orange juice?"

He breaks down with a fever, and it isn't just the flu anymore.

Ben catches it too.

"We'll be fine," he tells Michael, and Michael asks the doctor if he has a stronger prescription to give.

*

Michael's family is dying.

The doctor asks to talk to Michael in private, and when he comes out he heads straight to Brian's apartment.

"Fuck them," Brian says, arm slung around him as they both lay amid broken furniture. "We're all the family we fucking need."

Michael's lips are tight and he takes another joint, knuckles shaking and bleeding. He breathes it in deep and holds it until it burns like fucking hell.

"Fuck them," he lies.

*

Michael's family is dying, and nobody knows what to say.

He locks himself in a room, shooting down hugs or offers of kind words with a deadened look in his eyes.

Even Brian says nothing.

*

Michael's family is dead.
