Juries and Movie Theaters
Erm, yeah. The common denominator for yesterday was juries. LOL. I watched Runaway Jury (and
al_riddle was right--it is fabulous), and the Monk episode involved the murder of eleven members of one jury. :D
I watched Runaway Jury alone, because it was the middle of the day and I was the only one with an insanely long free period and hey--the mall is a ride away, so I decided to have some me time and watched the movie. I sat down, crossed my legs, and as habit dictated, swung my leg around.
Apparently, and I didn't notice this, I was knocking into the seat of the person in front of me, and he found it annoying. So annoying, in fact, that he forgot his manners and completely blew up at me. I, otoh, didn't even notice he was talking to me until he called me the equivalent of son-of-a-bitch. I blinked a few times, wondered what I did wrong, kinda figured it out, and stopped swinging my leg. (But really, people should be polite! He was extremely rude...)
Except slumber is really subconsciously evil, and I accidentally (I think) gave out one last swing and my toe connected to the back of his seat and the sound was louder than usual. Erm. Heheh... *smiles guiltily* Bad slumb er shouldn't have provoked the man, because he blew up at me again. I said I was sorry (which is probably why I got his attention again, because on the first time he didn't let me apologize), but he wouldn't be calmed down. He wanted me to move away, but I was already comfortable so instead I shushed him, turned to the screen, and watched.
Now at this point I was thinking there was something wrong with the man: He was completely unreasonable. I've never met anyone who blew up right away, so I thought maybe he had Issues or something.
Well, as it turns out, he didn't have issues at all. The guy, I believe, was on crack, because he turned to me a third time and blew up at me again, when I was doing nothing wrong! My feet were flat on the floor! He started getting mad and spouted off and I was "Dude, are you high?" (Well, I didn't really say that, because if he was high, I don't think I'd like to be the focus of his attention, thankyouverymuch.
I thought that was that, but he had other plans. After a long period of quiet, he suddenly, and without provocation, stood up, went over his seat, stepped on a seat one seat away from me, and went to the row behind me. I thought he was going to attack me or something, and I felt uneasy for a while before I realized he was probably trying to unsettle me, so I resumed watching the movie instead and marvelled at how some people can be so mature sometimes.
When he left in the middle of the movie, he kind of nudged the back of my head, intentionally, I believe, and that was that. Absolutely whacko, really.
Of course, as soon as I got back, I told the story to some of my friends and one of them naturally told me not to go watch movies alone anymore, because I'm female and there are double standards and females are generally seen vulnerable when alone, which is why females are more prone to attacks. I hate to admit it, but he's right.
Next time I'll bring pepper spray.
Now I definitely see the R/Hr vibes
hellcatjelybean sees from Sharona and the lieutenant. LOL. They were so cute last night!
The scene where the girl is killed in the movie theater just kinda brought back memories. Is the world telling me something? LOL.
