See Slumber Ramble

I watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind today. It was--I watch films to enjoy them, so I can't really form coherent thought or anything remotely analytical about what it meant or whatever, but. I liked it. One of my favorite bits was Kirsten Dunst. I used to detest her--since Little Women, actually, and then in Interview with the Vampire and then, I dunno. She just got on my nerves before. But I liked her in Spiderman 2. :|

I have Ben Jelen in my head. All of the three songs that [livejournal.com profile] siobhanohare sent me via Gmail, at random intervals, going through my head from Accounting to History to the ride back home.

I'm beginning to get twisted ideas in my head about love. Someone stop me from talking to myself, lol. I mean, really. I'd forgotten what my brilliant conclusion about love was--OH, I remember. Something about romantic love being the more selfish sort, I think. Less pure. It had convincing logic behind it, I'm sure, about asking and taking and expecting, but I'm pretty sure I disproved myself three-quarters of the way through. Or something. I don't know, it must be my mood, lol, whatever.

My friend is watching a special showing of Alfie tonight. Christ I'm going to melt. I've never felt so gigil (sorry, no translation possible--let's just say it's like trying to restrain yourself from squeeing except you'll end up imploding if you do, so it's like the state of near-implosion-from-restrained-squeeing) over anyone before.

Ben Jelen makes wonderful music. He was originally offered a modelling contract and it shows. Take me, Ben.

GIGIL.

*gigils Jude, as well*

MmmmJude. (I made the mistake of saying that after eating chips, and then consequently licking my fingers, hah.)

Jude and Ben make me happy.

Oh, those are so lovely! Back when "Come On" first came out, my friends and I would break into "come ooooooooooohhhhhnnnnnnnn" at random times... *izkewl*

"Criminal" is another amazing one. :)

Kirsten Dunst is pretty annoying. Have you seen the Virgin Suicides? That movie annoyed me. I am yet to see Eternal Sunshine, but it is next on my viewing list, as it has my Elijah in it and all.

I agree with you about the love thing. I don't really believe in romantic love at all though, I think it's just something we've talked ourselves into to justify our animalistic mating impulses and all. Love, as with most things, is much better in fiction than reality.

Also - ALFIE! I tried to dload it but the dload didn't work and WOE for I fear I shall have to wait until it's out on DVD. (I'm going to see Closer on Friday though, so that will console me somewhat.)

I miss you!!! ♥

Haha, well, yes. But. Mary Jane. Long story, really, lol.

Anyway, yes, totally. There's just so much expectation in romantic love, and so much selfishness in asking for attention and other things in return, once the relationship's been established--there's so much more reality of love in fiction than life, yeah.

Ack. I must watch Closer and Alfie when they are shown here!!! Yay for you and Closer this Friday!!!

AND YES. I miss you terribly we must talk soon. SO MUCH LOVE. <3

Yes, and in a way, people only seek out relationships and whatnot for their own gratification, be it sex or status or whatever. I mean, I've seen couples that are like 'our love is pure and true and like a great love of all time' and such, but when you get to know them, it's obvious that it's not like that and they've just convinced themselves of it because they want to believe it, for whatever reason. Like, you hear people say 'I want to grow old with him', and that's supposed to be this terribly wonderful thing to say, but if it were not a selfish love, wouldn't they be saying 'I want to be there for him when he is old'.

There is this weird light flashing outside my room. It is greenish and I fear it may be aliens.

*headdesk* Oh, it's lightening. I am such a dick.
