California has legalized gay marriage.

By the afternoon, gay and lesbian couples had already started lining up at San Francisco City Hall to make appointments to get marriage licenses.

Unlike Massachusetts, California has no residency requirement for obtaining a marriage license, meaning gays from around the country are likely to flock to the state to be wed, said Jennifer Pizer, a gay-rights attorney who worked on the case.

Hey, honey. So. My dad has this obsessive taking-charge thing he does every once in a while. After months of me bugging my parents about Terminus, and warning them that the price would increase if they didn't sign the parental permission form and get me registered soon, and telling them they should book flights in advance so we can use frequent flier miles... it finally seems to have sunk in, and my father's attitude is something like, "Why didn't you tell me all this had to be done?" :|

So I finally have flights booked, although I'm not registered yet, and my father, in his must-control-every-variable mood, went ahead and booked a hotel room for you, me, ccharlotte and Bri. I'm just making sure that's cool with you, and your plans haven't changed, and you haven't already booked a room or something, because... yeah. I would have checked with you first, but it was beyond my control. ¬¬ (He was all "Did you know the hotel is offering a special rate and you can share a room with up to three people?" And I was like, "Yes, dad. I've told you that about three billion times.")

Register soon! Unfortunately, ccharlotte won't be able to make it, as she's got a summer job that'll keep her away for a majority of the events at Terminus. I actually got an internship this summer too, which I'm afraid will go on through the con, but at least I'm still in the city and can at least hang out for the evening events. (God, I don't even remember-- are there evening events? There better be. :|) But yeah, I'm still going, except we'll probably have to look for a fourth now. :\ Which, you know, now that it's really getting quite near, we should probably start planning it out. :|

Oh... Except that might be odd for you and her to share a bed, then. Ehehehehe. Maybe we should bring sleeping bags?

And now at least I've got the Terminus parental permission form notarized, so you're officially my chaperone. :D I'll register some time this week.

Aah, internship going through Terminus sounds sucky, but I do believe there are evening events. And, well, if you still room with us we will have loads of fun. I mean, this whole thing for me is kind of more about hanging out with all the awesome fandom people than the actual convention, although I expect that to be spectacular.

Yay, haha, go register, you lazy person. And yeah, I'm really not AS interested in the con events as I am squee-ing with fandom people, so I'm not too bummed out I have to work throughout most of it. :P
