...but I think I'm rooting for Ten in this one. Come on, guys, please vote for him? ALSO, JON STEWART. :DKLJD:LAS:LAJSL HOW IS HE LOSING IN THIS ROUND??? TO CHANDLER BING??????

***

Also, um, remember when I nearly backed out of Azkatraz to go to the Blackhawks convention instead? Well, between Wizziekins being traded and the email I received last night, guess I'll be going after all.

I sent in three programming proposals (in the hopes that perhaps one of them would get picked up), and. Uh. All three of them are now approved? They're not shippy at all, but I hope if you're going to Azkatraz, you'll still consider coming to one of my roundtables for moral support and also because how sad would it be if no one showed up?

One of them will basically be a fangirling session for Blaise Zabini (hey, they asked for minor characters :|), another will be about the post-Hogwarts world and how, like, everything went from there to the epilogue (like, what happened to the remaining DEs? The Slytherins? Who was in charge and how did they make sure no one would do a Voldemort again, etc), and the third is about writing magic in Harry Potter (sort of inspired by this) considering all the weird inconsistencies that JKR seems to have created.

And and and. If you DO want to go and are interested and whatever, I'd appreciate it if you could give me, like, suggestions/ideas for what you'd like to discuss about particularly. Thanks! ♥

IF DEAN OR BARNEY DON'T WIN, I WILL BE SHOCKED. THAT SAID, I AM SUPPORTING HOUSE ALL THE WAY.

HAHA FUNNY STORY, SOME OF US MIGHT ACTUALLY BE GOING THERE. There is the mystery trip for the international students that they haven't told us where it's going to go yet (waiting until after the Belgium trip), but popular rumor says it's Amsterdam.

[identity profile] slumber.livejournal.com 2009-03-09 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
BARNEY OVER DEAN ANY DAY. I don't watch Supernatural either.

*cracks up* Then DO IT. WHORE YOURSELF FOR MONIES. IT WILL BE A LEARNING EXPERIENCE.

I watch neither show, but I am well aware of the rabid fangirl factor.

Only EU citizens can do that legally.

[identity profile] slumber.livejournal.com 2009-03-09 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know how rabid Barney's fangirls are, but that doesn't seem to be working for Jon Stewart or Blair Waldorf atm, so. :|

AND SPIKE IS LOSING BY THREE POINTS TO LORELEI HOLY FUCK.

Hahahaha funny how, like. THAT is a factor now. Pretty sure it wouldn't be if you were in the US, since prostitution isn't actually legal here. :|

[identity profile] acidpop25.livejournal.com 2009-03-09 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
But Jon and Blair's fangirls aren't rabid. Steadfast and devoted, but on the whole to less crazy extremes. In my experience, at least. I actually dislike Blair kind of a lot, but.

AUGHH SPIKE YOU CAN DO IT. Though I loved Lorelai. BUT I LOVE SPIKE MORE.

Lol, well, it's true! I could lose my visa to stay in France, man.

I've never quite dipped my toes in SPN fandom to know personally, but I'll take your word for it.

I KNOW RIGHT?

Well. Isn't that only if you get caught? *whistles*

It's on my flist. VERY MUCH AGAINST MY WILL. Dean fangirls more than Sam fangirls, too, seem to have The Crazy. They all seem convinced he is God's gift to television fandom hormones the world. HE'S NOT EVEN HOT. THERE, I SAID IT. Unpopular fandom opinions, I specialize in them!

"No! Working up a load of sexual tension and then prancing away like a magnificent poof is truly thanks enough!"

LULZ.

*pets j00* I can't even tell them apart. D:

Oh, Spikey. Never change. ♥

Jared Padalecki, the actor who played Dean on Gilmore Girls? Is Sam on SPN. Dean, confusingly enough, is the other one. I am a little disgusted that I am promulgating SPN-related information.

I miss Spike. Thank heavens for Captain John Hart.

[identity profile] slumber.livejournal.com 2009-03-09 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL.

Mmmm, yes, my thoughts exactly. I love how John Hart was like. Almost an homage to Spike. It was great. Upside to having a fanboy produce a show.

John Hart is Spike reincarnated with darker hair, a less cool jacket, and a wristband. Oh, and poison lipgloss.

[identity profile] slumber.livejournal.com 2009-03-09 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL basically, yes. *THUMBS UP*

Also now I sort of want to start an Unpopular Fandom Opinions meme.

Mine would be: "I did not enjoy Watchmen."

I haven't seen it yet. I probably will eventually, because I like Billy Crudup a lot (ever seen Stage Beauty? He was a revelation in that movie). But then again, movies I say I'll "see eventually"... tend to not get seen.

[identity profile] slumber.livejournal.com 2009-03-09 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I watched it because I love comic adaptations in its style (like Sin City and 300 and even V for Vendetta, though that was a little less of a visual feast than the first two) and in that regard, I wasn't disappointed. It was just-- I don't know. I guess I didn't like the story as much as I thought I would? (Haven't seen Stage Beauty, and. Um. Billy Crudup wasn't in most of the film-- or he was, but as a naked blue guy. :|)

[identity profile] acidpop25.livejournal.com 2009-03-09 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I've seen none of those three. Shrug.

Haha, yeah, I know he only lent the voice and the motion capture, but still. And, I cannot recommend Stage Beauty highly enough! He plays an actor famed for his Desdemona and called 'the most beautiful woman on the English stage' right when it's made legal for women to act in theatre. And it's go a lot of interesting ideas about gender and sexuality and art all wrapped up in a good story and a lovely romance with an awesome cast. There's a scene from Othello near the end that's breathtaking. It's also got Claire Danes and Rupert Everett.

[identity profile] slumber.livejournal.com 2009-03-09 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
They're not for everyone.

I IMDBed it when you mentioned it, because I haven't heard of it (and by extension, have thus never seen it), haha. It sounds interesting, though I might have to put off checking it out til after this semester, urgh schoolwork.

Not like the DVD is going anywhere. It's worth watching, if you like a good thought-provoking drama.

[identity profile] slumber.livejournal.com 2009-03-09 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'll wait til summer. The problem with me and movie-watching during the schoolyear is that I just get so tired of having to think that I tend to prefer the mindless fluff. :\
