December Drabbles

Here's the (writing) plan for the rest of the year (HOLY SHIT WHERE DID 2011 GO?):

• Finish hp_zombiefest - due Sept30 BLAH should be done soon though
  
• Finish interhouse_fest - due Oct25 (halfway through!)
  
• Plot out and finish smutty_claus - due Nov22
  
• Write that fic for ccharlotte - let's say it's due Dec31
  
• Drabbles for the flist for December

I did holiday drabbles once-- alllllll the way back in 2004. SEVEN YEARS AGO. Jesus. I can't believe I'm still friends with some of you from there! :| :D

Anyway in celebration of friends old and new (*waves to all the new friends*) I figured it was time to do this again.

The rules:

1. Comment with at least three characters or ships.
   
2. Add a selection of prompts for each.

And that's it. All ships are welcome-- I'm tempted to say the rarer the better, but some of you might see that as a challenge. :| Harry Potter is my preferred fandom, but I am willing to take on the following as well (with the warning that I've never actually written anything for these so apologies if I don't get any of their voices right):
* Criminal Minds
* Doctor Who (new series only)
* Feed, Deadline, that universe in general
* GoT (still slogging through the second book, sorry)
* Gossip Girl
* Hockey (gen only)
* How I Met Your Mother
* Sherlock (BBC)

Plus, IDK, anything that I may be familiar with. If in doubt, just add Harry Potter prompts and the fandoms/ships/etc that you like and I'll see what I can do for you. :D

Anyway I know it's only September but I'm planning on not writing much (or at all) in November and I figured I should get a head start on this ASAP. Also September is a -ber month. TOTALLY holiday season tiemz already. ♥

OKAY, I AM GOING TO HAVE A HARD TIME DECIDING WITH ALL OF THOSE AWESOME PROMPTS. Even the Sherlock ones. Especially the Sherlock ones. ♥

I submitted mine but haven't really looked at it since? I'm kind of terrified to. :| And I am not going to write anything too long for the other fests so I feel a little bit better about finishing those, hah.

Rare het pairs + Sherlock seems to be my addiction at the moment. I've written every single one of those pairings and I intend to visit them again, which is...kind of odd considering that Sherlock/John is my OTP? The longest Sherlock fic I've ever written centres far more on Sherlock/Sally than anything and that's...pretty rare. HELL YEAH RARE HET PAIRS.

Your het_bb will be wonderful! The snippets I've seen were glorious, I can't wait (and I barely read HP fic anymore). I have to say, the word count for this big bang was kind of phenomenally high, but I loved that challenge - it's just that my muse didn't like it as much :( Have to say, also, that I think smutty_claus is my favourite name for a fest ever.

Haha, rare het is odd for me because I came into fandom on the slash side. I mean, I still ship slash, and I still write it, but to be honest the last couple of things I've written have been het, so I guess I've switched sides?

Aww, thanks. ♥ I've seen 40K or 50K big bangs before, but for more niche groups there were 10-15K minimums. The trouble I encountered, which surprised me, is not so much reaching the word count as it was handling the plot. I'll be pretty happy with shorter fics for the time being, I'll tell you that! Simple stories. Plotless stories... :P

smutty_claus is pretty awesome! It's been running... 8 years now? It's only my second year writing for it but it's also most participants' favorite fest in general.
