but Netflix has Doctor Who and I just got Netflix and so I decided to rewatch Blink. Except I did that by starting with Human Nature and Family of Blood and I think I'm going to go straight to the Master episodes next, and this is what I have discovered:

Blink is still as bloody brilliant as I remember it being.

I am massively in love with this story. MASSIVELY. The unraveling of the plot is crazy awesome (all the best bits of time travel stories) and Sally Shipton is probably only second to Amelia Pond (the kid, not Legs) in being the best companion that never was and the Weeping Angels are creepy. as. FUCK. (Didn't like the episode when they returned though, but ah well. Some things just don't work as well once the basic premise is known. Curse of the sequel.)

(I didn't call it at all but OMG COULDN'T HAVE BEEN BETTER.)

I did not vote because I cared not for Sawyer.
Then he came for Angel ;
I did not vote because I cared not for Angel.
Then he came for Ned ;
I did not vote because I cared not for Ned.
Then he came for Ten ;
I did not vote because I cared not for Ten.
Afterwards, he came for Spike ;
I did not vote because I cared not for Spike.
Eventually he came for Barney,
and will there be no one left to vote?

Please don't let the rabid Dean Winchester fans get the best of BARNEY STINSON SOBBING HOW IS THIS EVEN A QUESTION??

I am going to miss David Tennant. I swear I am. But. Still! Nobody forgets their first doctor, right? But that doesn't mean the shift to the second one won't be all that bad!

Are you ready, Mr Smith? )
slumber: (why do i adore you)
[ profile] acidpop25's post on Gossip Girl 2x10 basically echoes everything I wanted to say, so, you know. I'm copying her post and putting it here. :|

Hear, hear! )

All I Want for Christmas Is... )

This week's episode is not as awesome as I had hoped it'd be, but that's because they're laying off C/B. And, you know, Chuck in general. Tragic. There's always next week!

Gale Harold was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash and is currently in intensive care at LA County and USC Medical Center.

And perhaps I wouldn't be as worried or as concerned, but there's this bloody rule of threes and these days it's seemed as though there's been nothing but bad news, and. It's Gale.

When you see this, post another Supernatural quote in your LJ. Let's see how long this can go on.

Dean Winchester: I'm not gonna die in a hospital where the nurses aren't even hot.

I don't even watch the show, and now. Dean sounds really really funny. :|
slumber: (dive into work)
so. much. work. to. do. Haven't been able to get on YM, though I've been commenting on some of your LJs (that was me putting off work, btw) and catching up on The Daily Show. Colbert Report up next. :|

and also, somehow, I was able to watch The Tonight Show with Jay Leno when he had Russell Brand over. (Which Americans, I believe, can watch here.) Russell Brand is ♥ ([ profile] boho, thank you so very much for introducing him. :D)

I loved Jay Leno's monologue at the beginning about Sarah Palin:

"She may actually be the first beauty pageant contestant to bring about world peace."

Except, of course, she's also Sarah Palin.

"Another Vice President who hunts. What could go wrong?"

Palin is the Twilight of the political fandom, y/y?

Okay, I really should be working now. :| ([ profile] acidpop25, I shall be on YM tonight.)

It is utterly tragic that my first thought upon seeing who was:

I am still not over that. And I still haven't gotten around to watching the Skins season finale.

And I am not processing anything beyond "CHRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS!" right now. :|

ETA: I almost hate to say this, but despite initial apprehensions, I always end up liking the new companion so much more than previous ones. :|
slumber: (trying not to laugh)
...but I figure some of my flisters might be interested too. :|

So [ profile] ccharlotte and I, while waiting for Torchwood Season 2, have taken to watching through the first season, and then perhaps the last three episodes of Doctor Who's last season.

We were nearing the end of Episode 3: Ghost Machines, when [ profile] ccharlotte noted something just a little bit peculiar in the wall of The Hub.

"You were more than a friend to me. You were my inspiration."

Platonic? I think not.

Man, Heroes has got me shipping SO MANY PEOPLE. Mohinder and Sylar! Matt and Nathan! MOHINDER AND MATT OMG. How can you look at two men raising a little girl together and NOT HAVE ANY SUBTEXTUAL THOUGHTS. Soooooooo many pretty people.
slumber: (GA: not boring at all)

I cannot miss the next Grey's Anatomy episode, but I probably will. BUT OMG I CANNOT WAIT THANK GOD THIS CAME IN BEFORE THE STRIKE.

Frankly I do not know how the screen can hold McDreamy, McSteamy, Alex Karev, and GALE HAROLD in one scene and not EXPLODE. Maybe that's why they can only put two in one scene at a time. :|

As I've been stealing my youtube embeds from [ profile] miss_charmed these days, I feel like you should all just defriend me and friend her. :| She will make your day every day, with South Park!Harry Potter and Gale Harold in Grey's Anatomy. Clearly she is made of much win, and I am merely spreading the word on her behalf. Call me John. The Baptist. She is Jesus. And I am Officially Blasphemous.

I've felt crappy and crazy all day, cut me some slack. :|

After last week's episode, I have come to the conclusion that Gossip Girl? Is totally the Slytherin House As I Would Like to Know It.

Blair is Pansy.
Nate is Draco.
Serena is probably Tracey or Daphne, they're interchangeable. :|
Dan? Let's say Ron.
Jenny is, hello? Ginny. :D
Chuck? Theodore.

Spoilers ahoy, for Gossip Girl, and how it parallels the Lives and Times of our Slytherins )

How Grey's Anatomy is Just Like an RPG

1. Everyone eventually sleeps with everyone else.
2. Everyone's PB is hot. (Well, nearly.)
3. If a player stirs drama, the mods kick him out.

I will miss Burke next week.
