It's been a year since I last drew -- maybe spring is just drawing season?

I had way too much fun coloring her hair.

Because the one she wore in the movies just did not really translate well in PS tbh >.>

I loooooved the texture of her dress but alas, it does not come larger than that.

CLOTHES ARE SO HARD.

One of the prompts in [livejournal.com profile] hh_sugarquill is Costumes, and immediately my thought went to Disney.

Still on the costumes kick. Imagine Hermione watching Beauty and the Beast -- she'd have been 11/12 when it came out. IMAGINE IT.

Experimented with how these two Hermione pieces were done. Much trickier than I thought. >.>

Meh. Not pleased with this. Her hair was a bitch and a half to sort out and wow, depressing image much? It's hard to find a Sansa picture that's iconic enough to make her stand out as clearly being Sansa without me having to tell you who she is. I did like how her lips turned out but that's probably just me.

Hair's always fun to work with, but IDK if I like her lips as much here. There's always something!

Title: The First Christmas
Pairing: Percy/Hermione
Rating: G
Word Count: 212
Summary: Snow covered the remnants of the night's battle.
Additional Notes: Pinch-hit for [livejournal.com profile] hp_kris_kringle.

They barely celebrated Christmas in the last few years, not when green meant the Dark Mark hanging high over recently attacked houses and villages or the third Unforgiveable hitting an innocent, not when red meant spilled blood of men and women who stood to fight the Dark Lord's army and lost.

Last night had been the last battle, where Harry had faced Lord Voldemort, and the Aurors and the Order had finally banded together against the Death Eaters, and the night was nearly a deadly parody of Christmas-lit towns, the sky illuminated in the green and red of curses.

Morning came, and all was quiet.

"Percy?" Hermione called out tentatively, stumbling over bodies and shaking as she drew her coat tighter around her body.

"Right here," a voice replied from behind her, hoarse and weak from casting one curse too many. She turned at once, running toward Percy, who clung tight to her.

"I thought--I didn't see--I was worried--" she stammered helplessly, fingers curled against his rumpled clothes and voice nearly breaking.

"It's alright, I'm here," he murmured, stroking her back soothingly just as the first snowflakes fell from the sky. "We're safe."

Snow covered the remnants of the night's battle, and it was the first Christmas in a long time that stayed as purely white as the season.

Title: Festive
Pairing: Ron/Hermione
Rating: G
Word Count: 128
Summary: Hermione happens to like the Weasley jumpers.
Additional Notes: Pinch-hit for [livejournal.com profile] hp_kris_kringle.

As was customary in the Weasley household, that year each child received their own knitted jumper from Mrs Weasley. As was customary, she made sure each jumper went to its intended recipient by the large, obnoxious letter embroidered on the front. And as was customary, she picked an especially horrendous colour for Ron.

"Puke green," he announced with resignation, shrugging it on because of course, as was customary, Mrs Weasley wanted pictures.

"It's called olive green, Ron," Hermione told him.

"Puked out olive green."

"Ron."

"What?"

"I like the colour on you," Hermione said, cheeks turning a shade of red that had been customarily associated with the Weasleys.

"You think so?" Ron asked, perking up slightly.

Hermione's lips curled up, leaning in a little, her own bright red Weasley jumper brushing against Ron's. "It's very.. festive," she murmured, just close enough to feel Ron grin against her lips.

Additional Notes: Pinch-hit for [livejournal.com profile] hp_kris_kringle.

It was almost too late before they remembered, wrapped in each other’s arms under dirty too-thin sheets inside cramped quarters. Time always stopped for war. Her face was bloody and his chest heaved from where his rib had fractured his lungs.

“Hey, Hermione?” he asked, voice raspy.

“Yes?” She clung onto him, cradling him against her chest.

“Happy Christmas.”

“Oh, Harry,” she whispered. “Happy—Happy Christmas.”

“Sing to me?”

She choked with tears, and her voice shook but it was soothing, and when Harry closed his eyes he almost felt no pain.

Additional Notes: Written as a pinch-hit for [livejournal.com profile] hp_kris_kringle.

It broke Ronald Weasley’s heart to admit it, but his girlfriend was honestly was not perfect. She was a little bossy, her hair had worse days more than it had good, and she can never, no matter what, carry a tune.

“Hermione?” he asked, cringing slightly as Hermione tried to reach a note that had seemed not only to be one octave higher than she’d been going for, but also about three notes off.

“I’ll get it, it just takes a bit of time and patience,” she said with a huff.

“What, swish and flick?” Ron asked, snorting.

Hermione glared.

Title: Blame the Nargles
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Hermione/Luna
Length: 200 words
Rating: PG
Warnings: None
Summary: Christmas spirit helps, a bit.
Additional Notes: I wasn't going to post any more drabbles because I figured you guys would be sick of all the requests I've been putting up :P but then I realised this one was a Christmas drabble, so haha. This goes out to everyone. Happy Holidays!
Edit: For [livejournal.com profile] fanfic100, for the prompt Where?

Hermione found Luna standing directly underneath a mistletoe on the day before students were to leave Hogwarts for the holidays, head tilted up, blue eyes wide, waist-length dirty blonde hair hanging loosely back and mouth slightly open. She stood watching for a few minutes, and Luna stood gaping at the mistletoe for the whole time.

Hermione cleared her throat.

Luna kept staring.

Hermione shook her head.

"Do you see?" came the softest voice.

"I beg your pardon?"

"The nargles," Luna went on, as if she'd been talking to Hermione all this time. "Look, they're hiding behind the leaves, but I saw a flutter of a nargle just a second ago."

There are no such things as nargles, Hermione would have said, but the words died in her throat at the mesmerised look that lit up Luna's face. It must have been the Christmas air, because Hermione didn't feel like spoiling Luna's fun.

"No, I'm afraid I didn't see them," she said instead, taking a few steps to stand beside Luna, and looking up briefly. "I bet they're hiding now, since you've spotted them."

Luna looked down from where the nargles lived, and looked at Hermione with an odd expression. "Mistletoe."

Harry/Hermione, the ship I never thought I'd write, but I do love a challenge, and [livejournal.com profile] abilizersparkle prompted me with H/Hr and a fluffy Christmas. Honestly, Hannah, I've no idea why we're friends. *giggles* Merry Christmas anyway! *snuggles*

'You know you've got to tell her soon.' )
slumber: (ruin)
Right, bit of a backgrounder. Waaaaay back when it was still summer, I went up to an almost-stranger and asked her for a Gmail invite, which she graciously gave me, despite the fact that I was only a friend of her friend. I told her I'd write her at least 500 words of any ship she wanted, and her requests were either Lucius/Pansy, Bellatrix/Neville, and Ernie/Hermione. I told her I'd do the last.

Six months later, I have no Ernie/Hermione to show for my efforts. This is really quite sad, if not a bit funny. She's never asked me about the ficlets, and yeah, it kind of looks like I chickened out altogether, but I love my Gmail to tiny little bits and pieces and she is a very sweet girl.

[livejournal.com profile] starrysummer, thank you ever so much. I apologise for being half a year late, and I wibble upon these fics, but I do hope you enjoy them. Happy Christmas!

Title: And Again
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Bellatrix/Ernie/Hermione
Length: 500 words
Rating: R

Summary: Hermione's been broken, and Ernie can't fix her.
Notes: Much as I tried, I could not write Ernie/Hermione. It was somehow too, um, harmonious for me. Then I saw Bellatrix/Ernie/Hermione in your interests, which was a bit eye-catching, as you're the only one who had that listed, so I thought maybe I'd write you that instead, as technically, it is still Ernie/Hermione. ;) (Also, ack. Title: Strawberry Kisses (Not Quite TV Love)
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Pansy/Hermione
Length: 100 words
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: None
Summary: "Maybe it's not true / Love on the TV / Just like we imagined it"
Additional Notes: For [livejournal.com profile] inell, who requested Pansy/Hermione with the words "tastes like strawberries". Funny, I'd've thought I'd do the other two requests because they included Blaise, but. Whee for femmeslash! Also, summary and inspiration for the title comes from "Shiny Red Balloon", by Barbie's Cradle. Local band, lovely song.

It wasn't the way they said it would be.

There was no sweet violin playing a ballad in the background or tenderly whispered promises to giggle to or perfectly rendered moments imprinting themselves upon memory - instead Hermione couldn't stop shaking and Pansy's fingers tugged at her hair painfully, and her back was hurting against the rough surface of the stone walls and Pansy called her mudblood.

She fisted hands into the Slytherin uniform, pulling Pansy up to kiss her and she sneered against her kiss, and she thought at least they got the strawberry taste of her lips right.
