  1. Welcome to my flist, [livejournal.com profile] hobbitheart! :D (And [livejournal.com profile] ginevieve, if you come back, and [livejournal.com profile] curia_regis, if you friend back.)

  2. If anyone is interested in playing Harry in a Big Brother-style HP RPG (nothing too serious, we're all in it for the fun), please do go here for more information. Check the OOC comm for the application, as well. (Unless, well, we may have one already. :D)

  3. Rec me books to buy off Amazon. Something that isn't too mainstream and available in paperback and gorgeous and brilliant please, thanks.

  4. How does one block a website from a computer temporarily?

  5. God I miss my anime fandoms. I know it's slightly useless to ask, but how does one break back into Gundam Wing and YuuYuu Hakusho fandom nowadays? D'you think they've LJ communities and stuff too or something? I wants.

  6. I miss talking to some of you. :(

  7. I need a break, therefore, I am taking one. <3

How do you wander back? Where do you go? I went to visit a 2x5 site but christ, I didn't know where to start looking! (Haha, was muchly surprised to find myself archived there, actually. I hadn't realised they automatically archive fics sent to the mailing list. :|)

That came out SO WRONG, dude.

4. This should work. I may/may not have explained it properly...

Go to Tools > Internet options > click the Content tab > underneath Content Adviser there should be two clicky things "Enable.." and "Settings."

Click on settings and then the "content adviser" box should pop up. Click the "approved sites" tab and then type in the URL of the site you want to block. Then click the "never" option.

Go to the "general" tab and click the ticky box next to the words that say "users can view unrated sites" or something like that.

Click the ticky box under that too, the one that says "supervisor can type a password to allow...blah blah blah"

It might ask you to set the password then. If not, you should see a little box that says "change password" underneath those two ticky boxes. Click it and set your password. Then click "OK"

You should be back at the Internet options box with the content tab still open. Click the "Enable" box this time. It should ask for your password. Type it in and voila! Site blocked. You can disable it again later, to unblock the site.

You'll have to close all your open browsers and open some new ones for this to work.

1x2.com...or .org, I can never remember which...and well...ff.net if I don't want anything good. Or I just google them.

Yes, I realised that as I wrote it, but I think it was that or 'Heero, come and kill me' Relena-esque. Then I would have had to have killed myself in some kinda ritual sacrifice.

If I find any good fics on my travels I let you know :*

Books off of Amazon...

Anything by Guy Gavriel Kay is worth reading. He's incredible at character development and plot twists and creating worlds that are familiar, but not quite real. If you haven't read any of his books, I'd go for Tigana first. It's an amazing story.

Also, The Crown of Stars series by Kate Elliott is spectacular. Sadly she is not done yet and it's taking her a long time to write book 6 which is the last in the series. But the settings are so much like Medieval France and there's church corruption and weird magic and culture clashing and omg Sanglant is about the sexiest man to ever grace the pages of a book. Anyway, the first book in the series is King's Dragon and it should hook you right in.
