In which I don't actually really want a vacation after all

I'm actually really going to pick up my Accounting textbook and read over a whole chapter and then do my homework after I update my LJ because I didn't really follow the lesson and would like to be able to get it by Monday, and I don't think I'll fall asleep on it now, because, well. It isn't as boring.

I boggle at my current work attitude.

I need to watch Closer again. We did last night, after a meeting, but but it was 2.30am and I haven't slept and my butt hurts from sitting on a hard chair for HOURS and I was sleepy and on an AIRBED so I sort of drifted off to sleep halfway through, just before Larry and Anna's fight in their house. I totally adore Alice's lines in the scene before that, on why love isn't enough anymore, and how she was waiting for him to leave her, and a lot of brilliance in between. Mmm.

A friend is in the US right now, and she's written in her Livejournal (which I keep typing as lovejournal, wtf?) that a friend of hers went on a vacation with her family to Beijing, China, where they were consequently stabbed while out on a walk somewhere in Tiananmen Square, I think. Both the girl (a student in my college, one year below me) and her father died. Her mother is in serious condition in the ICU.

I have no idea who her six-year-old sister, who decided to stay at the hotel that day, is with right now.
