You know how doctors get rid of phobias? They expose their patients over and over to the object of their fear, in order to accustom the patient to seeing that object feared and later not mind it at all, because of the numbing exposure. It's sort of like conditioning, actually.

I was desensitized a while ago, to nekkid ladies being treated in horribly brutal and lecherous ways and guns and blood. Was in friend's house for the whole day, and we were watching one DVD after another.

There was Bowling for Columbine, which was riveting, A Clockwork Orange, whose ending we don't know because the stupid DVD stopped at the latter part, My Wife the Gangster 2, which was pretty cool considering someone Kind Of Important died at the end, and The Life of David Gale, whose ending I guessed correctly. Go me! :)

The Life of David Gale was alright, but when they showed that nekkid lady being strangled to death we no longer felt anything. Cripes! And Bitsey was a stupid stupid woman, taking time out to cry and get all emotional when she could have used the time more productively, like maybe getting her arse off to try and save David. Got so engrossed my friends had to remind me it was only a movie. ^_^;

And tomorrow I get to watch Magdalene Sisters! :D

I wanted to watch 8 Women, but we ran out of time. Had to get home. :( Next time, though.

Will be looking around for American Gods tomorrow, by Neil Gaiman. :) Will be doing some reading later as well, involving mainly fics I should be reading because it would shame my ships otherwise to know I haven't been reading them.

And hm, anyone ever heard of Friendster? Crap. I didn't want to join but was peer-pressured by my friends. I knew it. I *always* do things I'd say I won't. Tsk tsk.
