Lent... yeah. Lent.
Feb. 29th, 2004 01:45 pmFor Lent I'm giving up my current diet of no rice more water more exercise. LOL. It's true, though... Ash Wednesday and I ate my first cookie (I have conditioned myself to feel slightly sick every time I eat something sweet--it just doesn't taste as good anymore when I can feel it settling in. I don't throw it up, of course, but I feel slightly sick anyway.), and I have subsequently been nibbling on snacks since.
Bad. Real bad.
I'm trying to give up religion, but mother dearest would come at me with an axe if I refuse to go to Church.
I'm going to give up not praying, because I really need to.
Um... that was strange, but it's really not. I'm Roman Catholic, but as far as I can tell I believe only in Jesus and his teachings--the Church as it is is based on human judgment and tradition based on what society considered normal centuries ago, and society is not a very natural thing to begin with.
So, give up the human-based rituals, start praying to God.
Personally, I don't know what I'd do with the meat thing... I don't like beef much, so that wouldn't be a sacrifice, right?
On a completely unrelated note... Rosie O'Donnell married her long-time girlfriend. *cheers* Go make a stand, girl! :D
Oh, and it's a leap year! :)
