Yesterday, my family and I ate out, because they reasoned, since today was Father's Day, all restaurants would be filled and we won't get any seats, but if we ate out
yesterday, no one would be celebrating Father's Day just yet, and we would have our seats.
ME: *dumbfounded at parents' reasoning*
PARENTS: We are so
CLEVAH!ME: But it isn't
Father's Day yet.
PARENTS: But we have SEATS.
*rolls eyes* Oh well, at least we were able to get out, and I managed to find a bookstore and I got myself
NEVERWHERE YAY! Have been looking for months for that darned book! (Also bought
The Bartimaeus Trilogy on a whim--has anyone read it?)
Then today, on Father's Day, we ate out
again. Will no longer point out to parents the irony of yesterday, as I have my books! *points to books*
Second item that is squee-worthy:
I've been recced! *squees* Am so pleased someone thinks my work is good enough to rec. Hee. :P I'm shallow, I know, but that was enough to lift my spirits yesterday, somehow. :D (But I still want to go to Australia!)
Well, the third isn't so much squee-worthy as it is smug-smirk-worthy. You know the
Mary Sue Meme going round? Where you put in your real name in FF.Net and see what Mary Sues have been named after you?
I haven't got a Mary Sue.Well, I think it's because of a few reasons. For one, my name is French in origin, and not very common, that is to say, giggling 13-year-olds wouldn't likely think of it as a possible name when they want a nice new American exchange student entering Hogwarts in sixth year. Secondly, my name's spelling has been altered slightly, so it's even
more obscure than it was originally. (For the normal spelling of my name, I found one fic. In Portuguese, so it doesn't count. Hee. :P)
On an LJ note, am thinking of changing icons. Or even the whole lay-out. *thinks*
