slumber: (love is blind)
GJ - Oh GJ how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. You didn't break down when LJ did and Shadow's Edge has already made the move to GJ and thus I felt the impact of the blackout less.

YouSendIt - I adore this. Have been clicking all over the place and downloading whatever sort of music I can, as I can't seem to do that from anywhere else. Oh, and by the by has anyone got Post-Modern Sleaze by Sneaker Pimps?

Gmail - *does not know what to do with 29 invites* I have a feeling its storage space is SO going to be abused. I once read about a girl who created six accounts for herself and then backed up her files. I created an account for a noble cause, and that is to have a place to send and upload my MP3s so I can get someone to download them and burn me soundtracks. *is clever* If only I hadn't forgotten my password.

Bookcase - OH YES. Bookcase is HERE hurray! SIX shelves (not really five, Lissa ;P) and I've filled two with books, the top with CDs. The fourth's for albums and pictures, fifth's for news, current events, and all the fics I printed way back when. The last is for old projects and past readings. I don't think I can buy any more new books. :|

LAPTOP - I am in love with this laptop. So are my friends. IF WE ALL BUY IT, it shall be given to us with the equivalent of a hundred dollars off the original price. (It's around a thousand dollars. They usually cost $350 more.)

GUYS, I already have a laptop. It is BIG, BLACK, OLD, TECHNOLOGICALLY IMPOTENT, and officially my DAD'S. The impotence I think can be fixed somehow, if I go to a computer shop, but I don't know yet. I shall have to really visit a shop to check, but I can't bear to have this reformatted. Diskettes don't work, I can't burn CDs with it, etcetera, so have no back-up too, unless I email everything or whatever. And it's heavy. And my dad doesn't like it when I bring it to university, which I HAVE to because we have reports and stuff, so I have to sneak it out. Have I mentioned it's heavy? I want to bring a laptop to school every day.

SO the question is, how do I ask my parents for it? I was thinking I need to make the reasons less flimsy, because they're really not, but they sort of are, too, so it goes both ways. I'm planning on offering to pay for part of it, too, but I'm supposed to be saving. AND I'm a bit worried about finances also because they've agreed to send me to Australia for a tournament this July (if I pull up my GPA) and I've been meaning to ask for a new phone because I have to poke mine with a pen just to open it ALTHOUGH I can live with it so I may not ask anymore.

But, yes. LAPTOP LOVE. Help?

BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY, [livejournal.com profile] double_the_ace!
