you scare the love out of here
Aug. 24th, 2006 12:00 amIf I'm getting too spammy, I'm sorry, but I feel this one deserves a post. From an email I received (emphasis mine):
Instead of an online petition with signatures, PETA is letting people send emails to those in charge of the experimentation going on. I sent mine in as soon as I received the email--it came from my Belgian brother, who is both gay and a vegetarian, so it's sort of like a double blow for him and therefore rather caused me to react more emotionally than I normally would have.
On hindsight, I realise that perhaps the method PETA chose to forward their concerns might be considered harassment if enough people send emails. I don't know if there's a better way to do it than what they have at the moment, but at the very least, I thought raising awareness about what's going on might help. It just seems like a bunch of people getting offended right now--PETA for the animal cruelty and homosexuals for the idea that their sexuality is something that needs to be cured--and sometimes some people really don't care who they offend anyway, but perhaps if more people knew and reacted in more reasonable, credible ways, then someone might begin to listen.

Just when you thought animal experiments couldn't get worse, they do.
Two researchers form the Oregon State University are killing gay sheep and cutting open their brains in order to find the hormone that causes their homosexuality, so they can change it.
Even more appalling: they are planning on using their research to "cure" people of their homosexuality next!
If you guys want to help stop them, or at least voice your affront, go to http://getactive.peta.org/campaign/p2gaysheepexperiments and cast your vote!
