how do you measure a year in the life

First of all: Happy birthday, Ravie! :P

It's rather sweet, if I try to ignore the fact that I'm a complete two decades old, to have people--some of whom I've not spoken to in a long time, some of whose birthdays I don't even know damnit--greeting me beginning twelve midnight all the way through the day to the night, in various means and ways.
