europa update number 1 (sort of)
Jun. 8th, 2007 10:39 pmSo my first few days here in Germany, I was up 53 hours, the longest I'd ever been awake, INCLUDING my most stressful days in school. Part of it was jet lag, part of it was, erm, an inability to find someplace decent to sleep, which is what happened the night I stayed in the Frankfurt airport.
So far, so good. I'm here for a student conference (which, may I add, is SORELY lacking in AUSTRALIANS, AMERICANS, CANADIANS and ENGLISH. That's most of my flist, guys. The next time this conference rolls around (it happens every two years) I will INSIST that you guys apply for it, okay? Really, it's a fantastic thing, and you only need to pay for travel.
There seems to be much more walking around and much less rice than I am used to at home, but that's alright, I suppose. It means I should be losing SOME weight. Also, I have discovered, quite unsurprisingly, that I am really a nerd. Eight days in Germany and I have not tasted a single drop of beer, I don't know why. They have clubs in their university housing for Christ's sake, you'd think it'd be easier.
Anyway, tell me what's been going on? Is the LJ drama still up, or is that yesterday's news by now? And HOW are you guys?
OOH, ALSO. If you would like to receive a postcard from Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Belgium or France, please write down your address and I shall try my best to send you one. (Will screen comments.)
