Dec. 31st, 2007

slumber: (no regrets)
Before I forget, and anyway, I'm not being productive at the moment. Besides, this is my favourite year.

  1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
Oh, plenty. Gone to grad school, sort of moved to a different country, permed by hair (and I need to do something about it soon, too, as it's gotten quite unpleasant to look at, eurgh), earned money for real (teaching too!), traveled around some countries in Europe by myself, lots of things by myself, really, cooking and baking included. Maybe laundry too. :| I also graduated from undergrad? Huh. Big year, big year. :| OH, also, snow angels. Snow balls. What? I've never seen snow prior to this year, gimme a break. :|

  2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I was gonna have them, but I don't think I really made any. Except I knew I wanted more follow-through, which I think I kind of did. I have new year's resolutions for next year already though. Well, one.

  3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
I'd not say she was close to me, but we were in the same organization in school and we got on well enough whenever we were in the same room.

  4. Did anyone close to you die?
    I don't think so, no.

  5. What countries did you visit?
Ooh, this is fun: Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, France, The Netherlands, and USA but technically, I'm not visiting if I'm staying a minimum of two years, am I?

  6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
I am not sure. I think I'm peaking with 2007. :| OH, I know. Money management skills. :| I thought I was pretty good about it but apparently, not so much.

  7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
December 1, because because. I traveled five hours total for dinner and a movie, and it was pretty much worth it.

  8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
It's either one of the two group projects I worked on by myself. :| I think what's made me proudest is getting an A++ standing in that class that I (and everyone else) was terrified of.

  9. What was your biggest failure?
Erm. I guess not graduating with higher honors? But I should have started working on that since I started uni, and I only got my arse in gear in the last two years of it. Oh well.

  10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
    Nothing major, no.

  11. What was the best thing you bought?
Probably the Macbook. But I have bought a lot of things, too. The Spring Awakening ticket? I know I bought some pretty ace things here so far, but I can't really remember them. Ohhh, that swanky ivory coat! Cost a bundle though. :|

  12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
    Line's, for being all-around awesome.

  13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
No one's. Jo's, maybe, but not to the extent of appalled and depressed. I just wish she'd stop adding things to Draco's life that are. Come on. Hyperion? She has GOT to hate that child.

  14. Where did most of your money go?
Oh bb, I wish I could tell you. D:

  15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
My long summer, and the schoolyear that followed.

  16. What song will always remind you of 2007?
Gimme More. :| VMA awards, the year of the fallen stars, etc etc.

  17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
    i. happier or sadder? happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? I should be thinner, but since staying at my cousin's and getting regular meals I think I'm fatter now. Not by much, I hope.
iii. richer or poorer? Oh god, don't let me do any accounting. I'd say poorer, but give me a few more weeks and I'll be breaking even, maybe. I don't know what I'm talking about. :|

  18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
    Study. Write. (Never changes. :|)

  19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
    Faffing about. As always. :|

  20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Right smack in the center of consumerism, capitalism, and commercialism. My cousin's got three children, so.

  21. Who did you spend the most time on the phone with?
    Line, likely.

  22. Did you fall in love in 2007?
    Multiple times.

  23. How many one-night stands?
    None.

  24. What was your favorite TV program?
Gossip Girl oh my god. Wait, hang on, Torchwood was this year too, wasn't it? So Torchwood and Gossip Girl. *waves flags*

  25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
    Nope.

  26. What was the best book you read?
Oh, hmm. Not sure. Could be I Am America? Was funny. :|

  27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
    THE PIERCES

  28. What did you want and get?
My Macbook, the Euro trip, the US postgrad thing. Um. A lot. :|

  29. What did you want and not get?
Couple of things, not very big ones though.

  30. What was your favorite film of this year?
I kind of really adore Juno.

  31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I seem to remember it being the best birthday ever. I turned 21. Line and I saw Wicked and a Blackhawks vs Red Wings game that the Blackhawks WON (for me, of course), and I got my first taste of alcohol here. Without getting carded. Go figure.

  32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
If someone had knocked on my door and offered to sponsor me if I worked for them. Yes. :|

  33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
Pink newsboy cap. Ivory wool coat. Dark green scarf. Signature pieces. ;)

  34. What kept you sane?
Chips. Baked Lays are the best.

  35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Cillian Murphy, Jude Law, Gale Harold when I remembered him, I feel like I'm missing some people. *ponders*

  36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Uhm. Media-related shite in the Philippines.

  37. Who did you miss?
    S

  38. Who was the best new person you met?
Oh there are so many. I'm thinking my groupmates in one of the classes I took last sem. Also, my Polish students. They're pretty ace.

  39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007:
    If there's a will, there's a way.

  40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
there's too many things that i haven't done yet
    too many sunsets
    i haven't seen
you can't waste the day wishing it'd slow down
    ...

i do what i can wherever i end up
to keep giving my good love
    and spreading it around
cause i've had my fiar share of take care and goodbyes
    i've learned how to cry
    and i'm better for that
sing how far do i have to go to get to you
    many the miles
