Squeals and Squicks

I have just finished reading [u]Maurice[/u]. *squeals* I am [i]so[/i] in love with it right now. Hee. :P

Oh, and watched Sea Lion and False Killer Whale shows today. In the Sea Lion show, they asked a volunteer from the audience, and a girl comes up and the Sea Lion named Simba kisses her. The trainer says Simba is one lucky Sea Lion for kissing such a pretty girl, and the crowd cheers. Yep, Simba was lucky alright.

By the by, Simba is a girl herself.

*facepalms* Femmeslash! In a wholesome place like the Ocean Adventure thingy! And with a sea lion!

Hee! Squee! I know, doesn't Maurice ROCK?!?!?!?!?!? Alec in particular is my total hero. I think part of the genius of the book is how you (or at least me!) go from liking Clive to hating Clive to feeling really, really sorry for Clive. Are you going to see the movie? It's really good, although it skips Dickie Barry and rearranges the order of a couple things. (They also got Risley arrested.)

Yes yes yes it does! :P I so adored Clive at the beginning, and then... wah. (And until the end, I never realized Clive and Maurice never had sex. I thought it was one of those early works where everything was implied, then Alec came along. Hee.) I wish I can see the movie, but like the book, which my friend found by accident after looking at a number of bookstores, it's pretty hard to find.

This is much sad. And yeah, Maurice and Clive never had sex...poor Maurice. Probably why Alec climbs in through the window and bam! they're in bed. One of the things I love about Alec is that he's definately bisexual, not gay, and that he's capable of a committed relationship. Go E. Morgan F.
Did you get the impression that Mr Borenius is just a tad too obsessed with Alec's sex life? The unspeakable vice of the clergy...

Oh yes, Mr Borenius is too obsessed. My evil little mind did not let that little tidbit just wander off. Was much pleased with self for figuring out his motives, actually. ;)
