Yesterday, my family and I ate out, because they reasoned, since today was Father's Day, all restaurants would be filled and we won't get any seats, but if we ate out yesterday, no one would be celebrating Father's Day just yet, and we would have our seats.

ME: *dumbfounded at parents' reasoning*
PARENTS: We are so CLEVAH!
ME: But it isn't Father's Day yet.
PARENTS: But we have SEATS.

*rolls eyes* Oh well, at least we were able to get out, and I managed to find a bookstore and I got myself NEVERWHERE YAY! Have been looking for months for that darned book! (Also bought The Bartimaeus Trilogy on a whim--has anyone read it?)

Then today, on Father's Day, we ate out again. Will no longer point out to parents the irony of yesterday, as I have my books! *points to books*

Second item that is squee-worthy: I've been recced! *squees* Am so pleased someone thinks my work is good enough to rec. Hee. :P I'm shallow, I know, but that was enough to lift my spirits yesterday, somehow. :D (But I still want to go to Australia!)

Well, the third isn't so much squee-worthy as it is smug-smirk-worthy. You know the Mary Sue Meme going round? Where you put in your real name in FF.Net and see what Mary Sues have been named after you?

I haven't got a Mary Sue.

Well, I think it's because of a few reasons. For one, my name is French in origin, and not very common, that is to say, giggling 13-year-olds wouldn't likely think of it as a possible name when they want a nice new American exchange student entering Hogwarts in sixth year. Secondly, my name's spelling has been altered slightly, so it's even more obscure than it was originally. (For the normal spelling of my name, I found one fic. In Portuguese, so it doesn't count. Hee. :P)

On an LJ note, am thinking of changing icons. Or even the whole lay-out. *thinks*

The link doesn't work. *pout*

I can't do the Mary Sue meme. Because there is an actual character with the same name as me (even though he has an e and I don't). I gave up after the first page of results.

Hi Slumber! Nothing wrong with enjoying recoignition. It's human nature...it doesn't make you an attention whore. Oh, I wanted to say that I was thinking the same thing in regards to the belly button question...lol. Draco strikes me as an innie, and Harry seems like an 'outie' guy to me.

It does now. *sheepish grin* Am silly.

Well, at least they can't come up with a Mary Sue because the name's already been taken, right? (Almost called you Theodor. LOL.)

Hee. :P YAY my need for attention is normal! *hugs*

Does being an innie or an outie have anything to do with anything, though? (I mean, does it have implications like whether you're a lefty or a righty, or what your palm says about you, et cetera?)

Thanks! :P *hugs back* Oh, it does wonders for the ego. *pets ego* ;P

Hee. Just finished Angels and Demons. Was better than Da Vinci, though more predictable because you've got Da Vinci as a template of sorts. And Stardust was funny! :P *loves Gaiman's Faerie* Yes, grab that copy of Neverwhere, it's so much harder to get. :D

Not that I'm aware of. I'm sure someone has a theory on it somewhere though. I just thought an innie would look good on Draco...lol. Also, he tries to act all together and what not...an innie seems more 'neat' for lack of a better word. And with Harry, an outie seems kind of sweet and cute, like him...lol. totally random reasons of course, but there you have it.

Wah. LOL. Am so silly... Charlie never entered my head, though Blaise and Theodore did... Head's stuck in Slytherin. *shakes head*

Makes sense. :P Aesthetically and otherwise... It's so easy putting meanings on things these days.

Eating out is nice. And books are nice. And I read your story (never heard of the source, but I read it because it was yours :p), which was nice as well.

::loffs Neverwhere::

Also, my name's fairly unSueable as well (although there was a Sue's mother with my name on [livejournal.com profile] pottersues yesterday) - "Máire" is hardly a common name, and my nickname is the same as a canon character's. :(

I don't have a Mary Sue either! Go us! We are just too cool.

You should come to Australia. You can stay at my house and we can be smug about our Un-MarySueness.

I keep changing the layout on my LJ and then deciding I liked it better before and changing it back. I want to learn to do tricky things with it, but it all seems so complicated and makes my head hurt!

Hey, found you through the G'n'H forum and thought of friending you. Hope that's ok, and that'll you'll friend me back.

Anyway, how come 'cause the fic's in Portuguese it doesn't count? Portuguese is such a beautiful language, and it is my native language. I say, give me the link and I'll take a look at it, hum? ::winks::

LOL. We're pretty much safe then, eh? *RELIEF* Really? What nickname's that, if you don't mind me asking? :)

Hee. *basks in utter coolness*

Wah I want to but I can't!!! *flails arms helplessly* *clings*

Fickle, eh? Same here. Except, I'm lazy too... which means that when I think I want to change my lay-out, it takes me such a long time to really act on it, and by the time I begin working on it, I decide to keep my current layout. *sheepish smile*

Sure, no problem. :D *friends*

Well, it doesn't count because fewer people can understand it, so the embarrassment factor of a Mary Sue named after me doesn't really hold its own weight. And it isn't even the proper spelling of my name. :D

You speak Portuguese? Brilliant! Is it sort of like Spanish, I wonder? (Er... I didn't save the fic or its link...)

Molly.

Yes, I'm a Weasley.

(Thank God it's not, I don't know, Voldie, or something.)

:D *glomps back* I don't know why, but when I read that, I laughed out loud. Am I strange? Wait, don't answer that :p

Portuguese is quite different from Spanish. It's like comparing Dutch to German. I could go on and on on their differences but I'm in a bit of a hurry.

Thanks for friending me, by the way! :D
