This is for [livejournal.com profile] boniblithe's Feedback Challenge.

I'm making feedback for [livejournal.com profile] louiselux, whose fanfiction can be found here.

Louise Lux, you write Harry Potter and Good Omens fiction, and while I've been in the HP fandom for almost two years, Good Omens fiction, being so rare, is a real treat, which is why I've decided to review your GO fics instead. And, GO fiction being such a treat, I decided I couldn't review just three fics, so instead I'm doing feedback for three things I love most about your writing. :D

1. The Flow

I love the way the scenes blend into each other so well. It isn't seamless, by any means, but the way that the scenes play out in a choppy, rhythmic manner are effective in the telling of the story. The setting is never really told head on, like in Up Above the World or Harry Potter and the Evil Genius, but those aren't needed for me to be there, seeing the whole thing as if it were happening before my eyes. It ends up a visual treat for any reader, because the writing seems like a stream of consciousness taking the reader along for the ride. Perfect. :)

2. The Characterization

Aziraphale and Crowley are two of my favorite characters in literature, and I don't know how much I can thank you immensely for the wonderful fics in which they retain their charms and charisma. You've managed to hold on to the essentials of their character; the bookishness of Aziraphale and the "devil may care" attitude of Crowley, and yet you've also managed to expound on their characters and explore them, leading them to new directions that develop their character. I especially love the way you drew out their friendship in Presents and in The New Boy, and the exploration of other sides of their characters in Up Above the World and Smoke and Mirrors was brilliantly executed as well. :D

3. The Last Line

I've got a thing for endings--last lines, last scenes, twists, etc. It's more a bias than just a thing, really, as usually, the last line will make it or break it for me. Your work doesn't have twists and surprises, I admit, but I still love the way you end each fic. The last lines often conclude the piece effectively, at the same time hinting at what next would happen (like Shelter and Self Love) which is just the right sort of cliffhanger-like thing to pull off for those. Sometimes you also put the last line in to put everything into perspective, like in Smoke and Mirrors, which I adore so much. And sometimes, the last lines are just really fitting in a way that I can't really explain, like A is for Angel. :P

Thank you so much for your lovely work. *waves Good Omens banner* :D
