Movies and Slash and Fandom_Glomp
Jul. 18th, 2004 11:15 pmSo I just watched King Arthur this afternoon, after the Accounting Exam That Shall Not Be Talked About... and...
sailorsimba you ebil person you!!! Thanks to your Harry/Hedwig, I now am the not-so-proud owner of Tristram/His Bird plot bunnies. (He said "Shall we go out again?" to the eagle! On screen! CANON!!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!)
Lancelot and Arthur need to get laid. With each other. NOW. (Someone write me a fic. Or give me a plot bunny. Please?)
I like Keira Knightley, but Guinevere is just not needed in the story. Meh. Clever battle scenes, though. :P
So, so, so... Am watching Mean Girls tomorrow. Alone. Because I don't know anyone who can watch it with me around the time I'm watching it. *shrugs* And somebody told me it's my movie, so I want to see what he meant by that. LOL.
I want to Captain a ship. (Three ships, at least, actually.) In the Off-Topic forums of FAP. *evil smile* Just don't know what to call it (them), though. :P Ah, the fandom love.
Speaking of which, I've realized there's just so much wanking going on in the HP fandom, and I know this idea probably won't sell as much to people, though it should, because HP fandom isn't all wank, but why can't a community be set up solely to, I don't know, point out instances when there is much loff in the fandom? It's probably not going to interest a lot of people, and I can't really think of what to put in it should it ever be a possibility, but it's sometimes disheartening to have all these wanking going on and people thinking it's all wank and no fun, that maybe there should be something that shows people the good side of fandom. Because, well, fandom is fun, when it wants to be.

Date: 2004-07-19 03:42 am (UTC)I would join in that community spreading fandom love. Perhaps we can post instances where people have done something for someone else... anything. Like, writing fic, expressing general love, buying paid accounts, er, I don't know. Sounds a little sappy.
And, dude, you have to Captain the ship! *grins* You would make a great captain. *doffs hat*

Date: 2004-07-19 09:34 am (UTC)And King Arthur? If that were the "real" story as all those radio and TV ads claim it to be, there shouldn't even *be* a Lancelot there, since he was just added into the story through the French romances. And since Malory based Le Morte D'Arthur mostly on these French romances, and Malory's version is the most well-known of the Arthurian retellings...
Sorry, Arthurain geek speaking. Lol.

Date: 2004-07-20 07:17 am (UTC)Don't worry, I didn't watch it because I thought it was the real story. :P I found it easier to believe the Le Morte D'Arthur, because I liked them more. :D
