Birthday Offerings to the God of Recs
Dec. 15th, 2004 07:15 amI am TEX at Integrated Subjects. LOL.
Oh, oh, oh, my cellphone is BROKEN. I can't turn it on as easily as before, and even when I poke it with the tip of a ballpoint pen it won't turn on. *woes*
Anyway, so. Agenda for today:
12:00 - Meeting
2:30 - Memorandum of Agreement Signing
After - laze about
8:30 - Drinking
Sometime after - Not Get Drunk; Sleep
Haha, on Thursday, the Alpha Phi Omega fraternity in my university will be holding their annual "ritual dance of the brave", in which neophytes get initiated into the fraternity by doing what is known as The Oblation Run.
Now, Oblation literally means an "offering to God", and in my university it is symbolised best by the sculpure of a naked man standing up, facing the world with arms stretched out, offering himself in servitude. So when the fraternity does an Oblation Run, essentially, they run around the lobby of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy building NAKED.
With brown paper bags and holes cut out for their eyes over their heads, but who's bothering to look up there anyway, right? >:)
Anyway, yes. It's a yearly event, which students from OTHER SCHOOLS love visiting our university for. There's a history behind it, really, and quite a political reason stemming from the seventies or something, I can assure you, except now it's mostly so sheltered people can see bits dangling off men, maybe. *snorts*
This is my second year in university. I haven't seen the first one. Well, I did, sort of, quite accidentally. They ran by us, but I didn't like, crowd around to look. My friend DID videotape the thing so, haha.
I wonder if I should watch this year. *strokes chin*
Also, as a note. Am posting requested drabbles over the week, but unless the person who's requested the drabble hasn't got
creativeslumber (My writing journal, for the unenlightened :P) friended, I'll not announce it here anymore. Bit redundant. XP I've just put up a Theodore/Alicia and Pansy/Draco, except they're sort of not. Hahaha. Er.
I have a fic due on the 19th. I have not started it yet. It's supposed to be Charlie/Harry though, which I've wanted to do in a while. Mmmwish me luck.
AND am reading Gundam Wing Fiction. There's one that scared me shitless, but I didn't get the ending. Er. Wah. What a way to ruin my reading experience.
Ooh, plus, recs!
I realise I should likely link to these in
creativeslumber, but, ahh. Too lazy atm. :P
You Break It, You Buy It by
hackthis - Blaise finds out a secret concerning Draco. Includes this bit, which cracked me up loads:
“I won’t keep you long,” Blaise said. “I abhor tardiness and I have Transfiguration, but I had a question for you.”
“If this is about Nott –“
“It’s not about Theodore.” Blaise waved his free hand dismissively.
“The Parkinson thing I can explain.”
Blaise blinked. “It’s not about Pansy either.”
“Queenie and I were only together that one time.”
Boot was, apparently, quite the tart.
Terry's such a h0. *loves and squishes upon Terry*
Not At All Formulaic by Amanda Carol - Draco/Hermione parody. Not entirely, completely funny, but it had its moments. And made me wonder if I could possibly write non-cliched D/Hr. *ponders upon*
"The chalk board states clearly that the potion will remove the clothing of anyone who gets splashed by it," Hermione said, stirring the simmering concoction gently.
Malfoy stood stock still for all of ten seconds. With a brief thank you sent to the Author, Draco casually slid his hand over toward the cauldron.
And suddenly, Hermione's clothes were gone. She looked down at herself in shock, getting goosebumps and rather stiff due to the chilliness of the dungeons. "How did I not see that coming?" Not that she was above retaliating.
And suddenly, Malfoy's clothes were gone. He grinned. "I saw that coming."
And suddenly, there were two naked teenagers, alone in the dark dungeons for hours. However were they going to pass the time?
I have such messy organisation of this update. Haha, lookie, am drunk already! :P *mwah*
PS. Also, GIP. Isn't
dark_eyed_amy the greatest? :P

Ack! I'm going to have nightmares! I... need... SMUT!
Oh, and I also didn't get the ending. Crap. I didn't even get what the signs said. And I have no intention to read it again. Uh uh, no siree.
What do you think it meant? And what do you think happened in the end? I have a bizarre idea that they died and they were reincarnated... *is confused*
