Silly Parents
Dec. 25th, 2004 01:50 pmMy parents are silly, and I am somehow reminded of that movie with Steve Martin, whatsitcalled again? The Out-of-Towners? Yes, that. For those who've been skimming, my parents are in the US right now, and this is about their flight schedule.
Parents: We will leave Dec 24, 11pm, arrive at Dec 26, 11pm.
Brother: Okay.
Me: Whoa, isn't that a long time?
Brother: *shrugs*
Two days later...
Parents: No no no, made a mistake. We'll leave Dec 24, 11pm, and arrive Dec 25, 11pm.
Brother: Okay.
Me: How did that happen?
Brother: I don't know, s'what they said.
The next day...
Parents: Oh, dear. We were supposed to leave Dec 24, 11am. But don't worry, we've rebooked our flight, and we will be arriving Dec 26, 11pm.
Brother: Okay.
Me: *blinkblink*
So, yes. They went to the airport three hours before 11pm, and found out they were supposed to be there three hours before 11 AM. My dear, dear father remembered it wrongly. *headdesk* Seriously. Even I know that the three most important things to remember when going abroad is a) where you keep your passport, b) your flight schedule, and c) whether playing cards in public is legal or not (It isn't in Thailand *shiftyeyes*).
Right so anyway. Posting gift drabble/fics/etc. More to come in a couple of hours, when the English are awake. And then some more later tonight, for the Americans and Canadians. Hahaha, mygift-givingissoalignedwithtimezones.
What's been up since last I linked to them:

Luce
klave! Your Harry/Draco is here
siobhanohare, I've posted the last drabble for you, which is Zach/Justin
Will come back with more drabbles in a few hours' time. I've been working on something else last month, and it pains me to say I won't be able to give it on time. Well, it only pains me a little, as I am enjoying the book far too thoroughly, but still. I wanted to finish it before Christmas is up and I doubt that's likely to happen anytime soon. Woe. But OMG The Princess Bride is even better as a book, and I wish I'd read it before the movie so I never get spoiled and perhaps that would have been better.
