Quirky Little Favour
Dec. 28th, 2004 04:15 pmI feel silly asking this, but. Erm. Since you're all logged into your LJ accounts anyway, do you mind clicking on this link HERE and commenting to tell me what it says? It's a pretty long story but yeah. I'm trying to map out LJ accounts. And looking for neighbours. Yes that's it. Also, I'm sure there's a story in there somewhere. *is crazy, clearly*
I am bored. Not in the mood to read anything, I just want to laze around and sleep, but my brother's already saying I'm living a pig's life (Buhay Baboy daw, wah.) so, eep. And I can't write if I'm not prompted, apparently. No matter how many times I listen to She Will Be Loved and Everything You Want.
You said you'd wait.
I did. Every night. And the night after that, and the one after. It was always just one more night but--I never asked for anything.
I know.
Can I go now?
Please--I can try--
You've been trying forever.
I know, and I--I care about you, you know that.
I know.
Stay? Please?
Until when? Until he breaks your heart again and you need someone to run to? Then what?
You can't--
No, Justin, you can't.
Please?
Maybe, if I can show you I can get over you, you'll learn to get over Zacharias.
I think I'll watch Love Actually. And read Babycakes. Not necessarily in that order. Maybe. I really should finish The Golden Compass and Mostly Harmless, as they've been with me since first semester and their owners might want them back.
Oh, right. Has anyone heard about the earthquake? I saw the illustration of the areas it's affected, and it includes Malaysia. I have friends who are in Malaysia right now, for a tournament. I don't know how they are, how strong the thing was in Malaysia. I don't think I want to know, not really. I'm sure they're alright, I mean, they should be, right? There's always disasters every time we go out of the country for tournaments (ie, almost missing the plane, almost getting arrested) but it always turns out alright, so this will too, right?
*siiiigh* There's something else but I keep forgetting what it is.

I think it's kind of hard not to have heard of it.

Date: 2004-12-28 02:22 am (UTC)I have an aunt in Sri Lanka, but she said all she felt was a tremor. The tsunami on Sumatra was pretty devastating as well.
When I think of how close the Philippines is from Indonesia, I shudder.
Buhay baboy, Slumber? Heehee. *whistles*

Date: 2004-12-28 04:14 am (UTC)Also, dude, I have been meaning to ask you about the earthquake for the past 2 days, but I keep forgetting, because I am a h0r. My dad was all 'it's quite near the phillipines, you know' and I was all 'Erk!... but surely Evy would have mentioned it to me if she was being washed away by a giant tidal wave? Hmm.'
So, yes. Have heard about the earthquake. :p

Date: 2004-12-28 06:49 am (UTC)it seems we're all beef-related, though why I have to be the disease and you all seem to be yummy steaks...
Anyway, the earthquake/tsunami was really awful along the coast of the Indian Ocean, especially in Sumatra and Sri Lanka - so far they've counted about 44,000 dead and they expect that number will continue to increase as they re-open communications with some of the outlying islands. They've got pictures and descriptions on all the news websites - MSNBC has loads of information and they update frequently.

Date: 2004-12-28 09:50 am (UTC)Thanks, I want to check and I don't want to check. I'm sure my friends will have said something on our yahoogroups, but I'm not going there either. I'm too paranoid. :\ :P

Date: 2004-12-28 10:59 am (UTC)It was quite scary - I've got a school friend who lives in Sri Lanka and I spent all day yesterday wondering if he was ok. He managed to log onto AIM and got kicked right back off, but I'm going to assume that means he's alive and has electricity and all that so hopefully he's alright.

I'm sure your friends are okay. I mean, they have to be. Because nothing devasting is allowed to happen around Christmas. But...oh, the earthquake happened. Hmmm....that wasn't very helpful, was it?

Date: 2004-12-28 09:14 am (UTC)I think most of Malaysia's fine, especially if that tournament was just in KL, since I have some friends there and they're both fine. One didn't even realise there had been an earthquake at all.
I've got some friends in Indonesia, only heard from one of them right now. Although, I think everyone has heard about the earthquake.

Date: 2004-12-29 01:14 am (UTC)Tsunami was scary. Stayed up all night watching and at first they said 6 thousand. Then you wake up and it's twenty. Then before bed it reaches 59 thousand and GOD IT'S SO- terrifying.
