Have sudden urge to read unrequited love!fics

Have been busy friending ASoUE communities, since I've decided to have an ASoUE-themed layout next (Jude, it was nice staring at you, but let's face it. You distract me far too easily.) Speaking of which: Does anyone know of any site that has good ASoUE images? Help would be good, thanks, and rewarded with cookies. Oh, and I have discovered something interesting about three people on my flist and violetklaus in the process, as well. *giggles* I've also properly spoiled myself, but let's not dwell too much on that. *covets the ninth book asap*

Also. I think I've an inherent aversion to any one fandom's main ship--it's a wonder I've stayed a Harry/Draco fan for so long, but it's probably part of the pattern. I'm a staunch Brian/Michael shipper, for one thing, finding only very few people on my flist who think the same (and consequently clinging to them for support), and my other (former) fandoms have shown similar inclinations, like in Weiss Kreuz (Yohji/Ken instead of Aya/Ken), YuuYuu Hakusho (Yuusuke/Kurama instead of Kurama/Hiei), Gundam Wing (Wufei/Duo instead of Heero/Duo), Fushigi Yuugi (Tasuki/Nuriko instead of Hotohori/Nuriko), and so on, I imagine, Harry Potter being the exception because this is where I've learned to multi-ship.

And it's all the same story, actually, the same sort of appeal that involves some form of unrequited love and a need for a happy ending despite everything. I've been converted to more than one ship because of a piece of fanfiction that involves the three characters in some sort of triangle involving cold lovers and unrequited love or something very similar, and there's always something about the sheer selflessness of that sort of love that's always appealed so much to me, and I miss reading about it. I wanted to feel that sort of quiet hurting again, for some reason or other, today, while I was friending various communities. Just, randomly.

ETA: "I just don't want to see you throw your life away on some loser when I could be treating you so much better. I'm jealous, numb-nut." just about sums it up. *giggles*

Just out of curiousity, if you're a Brian/Michael, shipper, what's your opinion about Ben?

Mmm, well, I've only seen up until S3, but Ben is--I have no problems with him, not really. He's safe. But he seems like such a scapegoat for the show, you know? Like the producers know fans won't want Michael all alone so they introduce a somewhat perfect boy to distract Michael while JUSTIN OMG TAKES BRIAN AWAY THE BASTARD. :| (Clearly, I got a little bit carried away towards the end, but. Um. Yeah.)
