slumber: (Neil Gaiman - surprisingly fuckable)
[personal profile] slumber
I am back--I have been back, only I've no idea how to fix everything so you get the interesting parts. :|

Anyhoo, I think I might have went on a Neil Gaiman splurge because as of now, I am now the proud owner of:
  • Angels & Visitations (which they republished yay)
  • The Last Temptation (which I took instead of Marvel 1602, which I'm sure I can find here)
  • Mirrormask (both the DVD and the children's edition book)
  • Two Plays for Voices (Snow, Glass, Apples and Murder Mysteries, which are as compelling as radio plays than as short stories and/or comics)
  • Wolves in the Walls (paperback edition, for $6.99!)
  • Audio Collection (which is him reading his children's stories)
  • Now We Are Sick (a collection of gross poems edited by Gaiman)

So, yes. If anyone would like the radio plays, I'd be happy to upload them for you, but in the meantime, here are the tracks off his audio collection, originally uploaded for [livejournal.com profile] saphreanth. Hope you like them! :D

Goddamn I need a Gaiman icon. :| (ETA: GIP. Best one I could find, though I share not the sentiment. Woe.) ALSO, I just found out that Neil Gaiman lives in Wisconsin, WHICH WE VISITED OOOH.

I'll stop being a dork now.

Tell me what I've missed. :D How are you?

Wah, I'm sorry I couldn't go to MoA with you. I thought you were coming closer to the next weekend and eijfkldshlkd. :(

Did you have fun at the mall though? Was it as exciting as you'd hoped. Probably not. XP

Pshta. Wisconsin is not as cool as Minnesota. ;)

Aww, I know, me too! My cousin's schedule was a little messed up so we had to do the weekend and it was pretty cool, actually. He was all "Mighty Ducks filmed here!" which was funky. :P

Wisconsin has Neil Gaiman. Probably when he's not on tour. Or in England. Hee. :P I am such a fangirl.

Ooh, thanks for the uploads! *downloads Wolves in the Walls and the Goldfish one*

Is Angels and Visitations good? I adored Smoke and Mirrors and considered buying the other one, but I was never sure how many of the same stories were printed in Angels and thought it wouldn't be worth it if there was too much overlap. Er, if that made any sense.

No problem! :D

I haven't gone through it yet, but it does have plenty of things that came from Smoke and Mirrors, like Chivalry, Nicholas Was, Babycakes, Troll-bridge, Vampire Sestina, Foreign Parts, Virus, Looking for the Girl, We Can Get Them For You Wholesale, and Murder Mysteries. Which would be 10 of 22. :|

The rest are short stories, poems, essays and book reviews, though. Considering how the paperback copy of Smoke and Mirrors is $13.00 and I bought Angels and Visitations for nearly $30.00, it is rather steep, but I bought it also because I was collecting, so it's up to you. :P

Whether you decide to get it or not, I do have an html file of one story in A&V that isn't in S&M (The Case of Four and Twenty Blackbirds) which I'd be happy to email you. :)

Isn't it usually easy to get radioplays on the net? #audiobooks@undernet.net in mirc?

Haha, I'm so envious, when I visit the states my parents are so crummy about moving around. And when I do visit a bookstore my mom complains about me buying books -_-; She's got to be the only mother who hates her daughter reading.

I don't have mirc, aaaaand I feel bad not buying Neil Gaiman's stuff. :| (Although I've already read all of Sandman, but I promise I'll buy them someday.)

We kind of had to switch states to visit everyone my parents possibly knew. :| Aaaaand no, my parents protest me getting books with their money, lol, and we really had to figure out how to deal with the baggage dilemma. :|

Yeah well, mirc is good for previewing books.

Haha, well we move from state to state. We went to Florida, California and then Nevada. It's just that after we move states it's rare that we move AROUND the states other than the visit relatives, mall a couple of times, bargain shops. One or two amusement parks. -_-; Sigh.

It's like a trip to Tagaytay.

Didn't know that. Unfortunately I'm too lazy to learn a new program. :P

Ahh, true. Our relatives were probably just over-excited and wanted to take us everywhere, haha.

LOL, how? You go there just for the climate? :P

mirc is surprisingly like DOS.

Yes. Take a trip, get cold, do the chores for everybody who doesn't have a maid, occasionally go out with cousins for the mall (where you end up not buying anything becuase you realize third world currency sucks). Finally realize that you are doomed to your fate and decide to be stuck inside the house playing board games. It's like paying hundreds of dollars just to force everyone to spend one month of quality time together.

The only difference with the Tagaytay trip is: I have my laptop in Tagaytay and the chores are lighter.

Ew, DOS. I've used it before, actually, but only for chatting.

I played Batman with my nephews. :|

I brought my laptop to the US. :P
