in the kind of world where we belong

slumberThe kid we've been hosting since July is going to leave in a week's time and I've been going around and everywhere with him so he doesn't feel like I don't want to spend quality time with him. The other night we were at the only semi-decent theme park in the country where no one was around and we rode everything as many times as we could and won tiny stuffed elephants and stars and took tinier sticker-pictures, and last night we went to see a relatively unknown but pretty good Beach-Boys-Beatles-ish band, if only they had more originals, who talked with us after the show because we were the only ones left.
The other exchange student, she said she'd rather spend the remaining time with friends and family and just pretty much hang out, but I can't blame my brother. The whole thing is less an attempt to enjoy the last of his days and be in the moment than it is, I guess, him making memories.

X-Men: The Last Stand, was alright. I don't know if I'm allowed to spoil people here, so I shan't. It fails to either impress or annoy me enough for me to comment on it, which I suppose is bad and good, respectively. I should like to see The Da Vinci Code because the fun of discussing religious scandals never dies.

I finally found a song that I've been on the lookout for since I started my music library, and what sucks about it is that I know that the one friend who understands the significance of the song no longer cares for it, because she's changed and I haven't, and it's kind of sad. We would have giggled and squeed over it. :\

On second thought, let's leave the meme for another day.
