A little over a year of living at my apartment and I've only just now figured out exactly how close I live to the gorgeous lakefront (and park, and Shedd Aquarium, and Adler Planetarium, and Field Museum). People, it is walking distance! And in the summer it is absolutely gorgeous. Sobbing, how did I completely miss this??

Sometime this week I will probably take a walk (or a jog! LOL) around and take pictures, weather-permitting, or something. I need to picspam this because next summer, if things fall into place (or David Bolland onto my lap, who knows), I might end up closer to the United Center.

And then next weekend, before San Fran, we're doing a staycation-type thing-- bought a City Pass already-- and act like tourists in Chicago. (Have you seen the glass ledge on the Sears Tower? Fuck, I am all over that like white on rice!)

Summer in Chicago, I have missed you!

SO! Tell me what your plans are and we can work something out? The only thing I'm not entirely sure about is whether or not I can take August 4 off work, since I'm gone Friday for Lollapalooza, lol, but give me the details and stuff?

:D:D:D I am glad you are! It's totally the best, and I love it extra hard because when I first moved here I based my decision on a lot of external things like family that lived nearby, scholarship money, availability of grad housing, etc etc, and I NEVER expected to actually LOVE the city as much as I did. A+++! :D

Dude, I could have told you that! I assumed you knew. sdfgvbn and I am jealous, too, because the Shedd is my favorite place in the whole of Chicago but because I live in the suburbs it's like a 45 minute drive for me to get there. Le sigh.

Well, see, I KNEW, but like. It was always something at the back of my head but I didn't really feel like I had to go there until I actually did, and holy crap I didn't realize just how pretty it was over there and how CLOSE I WAS TO PRETTY LAKESHORE VIEWS. J:ALKSDASDK:A I FAIL AT LIFE, OKAY.

Dude, your location rocks. I'm so fucking excited to do that ledge thing, I can't even lieeeeeeee.

I still hate Chicago summers, though. Wish I was going back to S.F. :P

I loooooove where I live. I've never been so close to everything before, sob. The ledge, holy crap, I wanna pre-emptively pee myself but I am READY to do it, I think. I will die, but. It will be glorious.

Heh, is SF where you're from? uhhhh, what kind of clothes would we have to bring there and such? Is it hotter there? Colder? Windier?

Yep, born/raised in the Bay (oh, I'm sorry -- YAY) Area. Right now it should be relatively warm, though it's always smart to go with layers since mornings and evenings can get cooler if you're by the water. I'd just check the weather forecasts, pack accordingly, and throw in some light sweaters and windbreakers for insurance. It's much less humid, I can tell you that. ;__;

Layers are the bane of my existence, sob. Oh well, haha, and yeah, we definitely want to go by the pier and stuff, so we'll have to.

*pets* It's been really weird here, though, like. TWO DAYS of dreadful heat, and then like. Chilliness. At least in the mornings and afternoons, idk why.

I'm holding my breath, man, so don't jinx this 60-degree weather away from me. :((( The past few city summers have been penance enough, y/n?

Zipping my lips, you won't hear a thing. *nods* Ahaha, I have only been here last summer, so besides Lollapalooza (which, come on, heat happens over there) and Taste, last year I was nice and chill.

My penance comes from growing up near the equator, where the weather is either wet or dry, lol.

I am most likely moving to someplace more affordable (and more spacious) by the start of summer next year (if I end up staying here, that is) and it is making me weep a little. But I will take advantage for now! Yes.

Oh, and I forgot to let you know-- my parents visited me for my graduation last month and the one thing I asked them to bring me from the Philippines is a copy of Rogue's November 2008 issue. You're amazing. ♥
