Wow. Yesterday was. Wow. Mmmm.
Mar. 6th, 2004 10:20 amUnderwater Light 17 was updated yesterday. I've read it, and MAN! Draco/Blaise action! :D Yeah, so they're just friends with benefits, but MAN! This is what I can appreciate with Slytherin love... ;P UL is absolutely my favorite series in H/D--and we haven't even gotten to the slash, not really! Man man man, I am so reeling from it all. And what happened! *gasp* Poor poor _ _ _ _ _--the kid must be feeling so much... Tsk tsk tsk... Although, reading again after so long, I think I need to have my memory refreshed. Is it only Hermione who knows Harry has a crush on Draco? Ron seemed kinda, um, clueless? (Like he always is, never mind, I answered that question.)
DV 14 - I don't think I'll be religiously following this anymore, though. I spent two days last summer catching up to this because, as a newbie in the fandom community though I have been reading fics for a year back then, this was touted as H/D. Took me half of the first story to make me realize it was a H/D friendship fic, and that it was a triangle. Of course, at the very point when things started getting slashy, the series cut off. Never again, I say, not until the whole thing is finished and done with. I won't stand for that kind of mental torment. (Two whole days of reading, and suddenly it gets cut off like that. Ouch. My fault, yeah, but ouch.)
Windfallen - guilty pleasures. Must read soon, it seems I've missed two updates. I like how Cinnamon writes, that is to say, she updates quite frequently. *hint hint to the UL side* LOL. I admire people who write fast. (Like
arimunami, hi. When's the sequel for Lightning Letters coming up, btw. ;P) And she feeds on my guilty ship--R/G. Please don't hate me. I'm just on the verge of exploring this ship for fanon anyway--I'm all the way R/Hr. And the Harry/Charlie! Windfallen feeds my weird cravings... the H/C described in this reminds me so much of all those Hurt Comfort (Hmm.. H/C is H/C-ish. LOL.), torture, rape fics I used to read in anime series. (And I was much younger then! *gasp* No wonder I turned out like this. *sigh*) Must read now.
JKR Interview - ah, and who can forget? Yesterday is so Harry Potter Day. Pardon H/Hr shippers on my flist, but I found her comments R/Hr-ish. In the eyes of a shipper, yeah, but well. :) And she hinted Ron might not live to leave school to have a proper job--there goes discussion on the R/Hr forum about what happens Post-Hogwarts, although that *did* leave my Christmas fic slightly in tune with canon, no how matter how unintentional. LOL. Bilius, indeed. Poorpoor D/Hr shippers... My friend is one, I wonder if she's heard. But it doesn't really matter--I don't see why D/Hr shippers should feel crushed. That's what fanon is for, isn't it? :D Gah. Some inane questions--I wish someone would have really asked whether Blaise is a girl or a boy--but she can only answer it if Blaise is a boy. If Blaise is a girl, let's keep her quiet and let D/B!B sail in androgynous peace.
In other news, am planning on changing themes, primarily because my LJ has none. LOL. Maybe I'll make it more slumber-ish, maybe I'll do the Endless theme, or a Slytherin one. Any suggestions as to how I can expand on those?

Date: 2004-03-06 03:53 pm (UTC)Gargh! OK, here's the deal: I have had the dreaded WB (I won't write the words...) on the LL sequel. Then I wasn't sure I even wanted to write one. Now, I've finally decided I am going to write a sequel. Wow, that only took me- erm, a year. My plan is to write the entire thing over Easter Break in 2 weeks... and then post it when I get back to Uni, if it's done. I'm also working on a ficlet set in the Universe. And I'm going to right now put a little drabble from the sequel on my LJ, if you care to join me...
Once again, very sorry!

Date: 2004-03-07 12:43 am (UTC)Oh, and before I forget, *glomps*
JKR.
Date: 2004-03-06 08:10 pm (UTC)I kinda found her comments rather ambigious.
Poorpoor D/Hr shippers...
You know what I loved the most, the fact that she turned down Hermione/Draco fans. I just don't understand that pairing at all, I simply despise it. Although I do hold Draco/Ginny pairing close to heart, even if it is not cannon, so I shouldn't speak.
Crookshanks not being a cat intrigued me. I haven't read Fantastic Beast and where to Find Them, properly enough and it pisses me off. Could it be a Kneazle?
What always pisses me off is the fact that kids that haven't been in the fandom for a long time and maybe don't have as much access to the internet and other sources of information always ask questions that have already been answered. Someone should really compile all the new important questions that need to be asked, like the color of Ron's eyes or Blaise's gender, and make sure they are answered by JKR.
Oh and people should read the books properly as well, so they don't ask questions that are answered in the books.
Re: JKR.
Date: 2004-03-07 12:53 am (UTC)If I weren't seeing the world through R/Hr-tinted glasses, I'd probably agree with you. But I'm not. LOL.
so I shouldn't speak.
I'm part-sympathizing, part-empathizing. I mean, it's just crushing to have JKR say that about your pairing, and the fact that D/Hr shippers hope for a little bit of canon just adds up to it. Then I think about what would happen if she did that to R/Hr, and man, that would be just harsh. (Whoever she's letting down in the Trio shipping, she's letting them down way easier than she did the D/Hr shippers, though.)
Could it be a Kneazle?
I never even read FBaWtFT... I think a Kneazle has dog-like properties though, from the fics I've read. *shrugs*

Exactly! I mean, "How do Muggles see Hogwarts?" What on earth? OR someone should put up a FAQ page somewhere so fans can check them out before they even think of asking. 16000 questions don't exist uniquely, and they should also know what questions they can't ask. Total waste of space. *shakes head* And she never did answer that question on who the other two Gryffindor girls were. *sigh*
Re: JKR.
Date: 2004-03-08 08:52 am (UTC)Well, R/Hr is the only "cannon" pairing I'm rooting for, and I stilll found her coments ambigious.
I think a Kneazle has dog-like properties though, from the fics I've read.
Nope, I re-read it and it is a cat, well sort of a wizard bred cat. A Crubb or something like that is the dog...
I think a Kneazle has dog-like properties though, from the fics I've read.
Well, she did state she did not have her notebooks with her... *sigh* All that time lost to, "Will Harry kill Voldemort in the 7th book? questions...
