In Which LJ Is A Diary
Apr. 21st, 2004 08:00 pmA batchmate of mine from high school just died, under her fourth operation from something she's always had. I am numb and shocked. We were never close, and I think that's why I don't know what to feel. I don't think the gravity of the situation has settled in just yet, though.
You know, I've always never liked writing longhand. Perhaps the reason why the diary has failed me was because of this. (And my secret desires of having my diary end up a bestseller long after I'm gone--Anne Frank-ish--which made me try so hard to think of something deep and meaningful to say besides that the weather is kind of like life. LOL.) And I've only really used it to note down the day's events, never really my emotions, which took longer to write, and which I did not want to do longhand.
Anyway, I'm not going to launch into a long introspective. In fact, this entry has nothing to do with above paragraph. LOL. Feeling non-sequiturish today, I guess. Just going to say that CSI is on and I need to catch it, and I have to treat LJ as if it were a diary, and write the day's events, so to speak. Except, it's really more of a shout-out. Except, it's not for all the people in my flist. (Because, well, CSI, remember? :P)
passo, I am SO sorry I wasn't able to drop by for the chat. I really wanted to, because HxT has its charms, but I came home yesterday from Habitat for Humanity and my arms (from my wrist up to my elbow) were so sore and they still are and I had to sleep them off. (And then I either had a really bad nightmare or I really did wake up in the middle of the night from the pain and tried to cry it away.) :( Happy first year anniversary, though!
al_riddle - nothing. Hope your walk went fine. Hope HK (You're still there, right?) is fine. *misses*
I have just friended some GnH shippers!
klave,
mijan,
sailorsimba,
orolin and
morganashkevron! *glomps* GnH is like a glomping orgy. :D And the other GnHers I've already friended! Hi! :) *glomps to
foresteyes,
idroppedarice,
dark_eyed_amy,
encee_17,
meemobunny,
postingwhore (although she's more of the D/B!B ship now--not that I'm complaining. :D),
fallen_memories,
gutterqueen,
reila, and
sarcastic_mango. :)
unrouen, how's summer thus far? :D Have you seen Big Fish yet? Apparently it's only in Glorietta, which is a far far mall from mine. Woe is me. *cries*
I've just monitored
hp_survivor, and I can't wait for it to start! *is fan of Survivor theoretically speaking* I love the idea, definitely, and I wish I could have applied for Blaise Zabini, but with the way the game goes, I don't have enough time for it anyway. So will watch instead. Can't wait! :)
I might be putting up a fandom-stuff only journal, like
idroppedarice's
boticelliwings, because it might make me want to post there more often, therefore making me write more often. LOL. And I like making clever icons (Not pretty ones, though... I'm pretty much on the beginner level with Photoshop), so those will go there too. Can't decide on a name, though. Mayhaps fandomslumber or fanonslumber or slumberinthefandom. Last one is too long, and the allusion is not obvious. Anyway, still deciding on it.
Muggle Monthly - still thinking about it. The idea's growing on me, it really is, and ideas for articles are coming out of nowhere, but I'm not entirely sure I'll be able to commit to it for this year. Still thinking. LOL.

Date: 2004-04-21 04:20 pm (UTC)I used to have a few diaries (and only filled up one), but long-hand took way too long; LJ is so much faster (typing is, at any rate) and the whole interactive aspect is ever so addicting. ;) So *whee* for online journals!
(and I'm quite sorry to hear that about your friend :( )
