slumber: (Don't make me laugh)

Happy Birthday, [livejournal.com profile] ticca!!!

Well, it's the thirteenth here, anyway. :P

I am such a t00b. I completely missed pre-enlistment period, and now I might have to manually register for classes next sem. Not my fault I was out the whole day yesterday though, that was the deadline. (I was getting my trial make-up run thingy for Saturday. Which is cause for plenty of stress and pimplage. Honestly.) Mother got mad again yesterday, because I haven't fixed the songs and stuff, and she told me I hadn't been working on the preparations as much. (Well, I would, except she gets mad every time we do, which turns me off of the idea of working on preparations, see? All roundabout and stuff. Hee.)

Anyway, things seem to be getting better. I think I'll climb back onto the fence for now, instead of being in the fray of things. *nods*

In any case, something in [livejournal.com profile] blurredbeauty's journal prompted an odd idea that needed to be written.

So, to everyone who's feeling a little down and under the weather, don't worry. The sun will come out tomorrow. Really.

Author's Notes: I had meant for this to be funny, really. Except, well, wah.

Sol hadn't been feeling good, not in a really long time. The last time he's ever had that queasy feeling at the pit of his proverbial stomach--at his core, then, if one needs to get technical--was millenia ago, at some party or other. Mizar had been a gracious host, and the elder stars had tolerated his presence, but it had made him uneasy anyway.

He'd gone through the night queasy and a bit ill and altogether unsure of what to do, and that feeling hadn't come back until today. Unless, of course, you count the time when his planets woke up. They'd all been asleep for so long he'd begun to think they'd never wake, then one day (Which was, if one insists on being technical, actually a course of a few hundred million years, but what was time to a star anyway?) they began to tingle, pushing past the haze of lifelessness and growing, and at the very center of Sol's core there had been a little whee that made all of him burn just a little bit brighter, as if the swirling of his gases about-faced and swirled in a different direction, which wasn't at all bad, not entirely, just, well, new.

Things like that were rare, and they turned his flames inside out and made him feel weird, and he only felt that way among the Elders, although he was older now, and during change.

Well, no, there was also that time when Dream decided to come live in his system. Dream had mentioned that, in passing, at that same party when Sol had dropped a tray of drinks (He didn't see the hand collide into him, really) and ruined some good wine, but Sol hadn't really taken him seriously, until Dream showed up and stated that he wanted to walk in the planets' dreams.

That had made Sol uneasy too, because partly he knew it was Dream's way of running away from Killalla, and Sto-Oa, and Sol didn't like it when he knew there was conflict between Elders and the Endless, though mostly it was just the way Dream made him feel very uneasy, weaving through his planets' subconscious, staying in dreams and always being just on the fringes of Sol's light, and he wondered what Dream would feel like if he slept and let him walk through his dreams. He wondered a lot of things about Dream, but he never liked letting anyone know, and privately he was glad Dream couldn't go walk through his dreams, although..

Plenty of things made Sol uneasy, he realized. And when they do, they sort of come together in a big pile of uneasiness, and maybe that's why he'd been jittery and more inclined to spout off bursts of flaming rays. Right now, especially, since Sol decided he'll have to tell someone something soon, and perhaps Mizar might listen to him--she'd always been wise. In the meantime, though, he'll likely try to catch a glimpse of Dream from behind the clouds and maybe chase Dream's path as long as he can reach into the night through dawn, and tomorrow, when Mizar visits, well.

Tomorrow he'll come out.

You! *waves hands about* I adored your character interpretations. I remember the Hufflepuffs particularly, for some reason. <333 Did you ever write the fic?

Anyway, thank you very much. I am!

Woe. I'd love to read it if you ever do write it.

Sure, that'd be cool. Any friend of Po's is a friend of mine. :)
