I'm reserving final judgment for OotP after I've read each book, seen their adaptations (except for the Philosopher's Stone, which I'd done reading by the time I got the idea), and then read HBP as well, in time for Deathly Hallows, to get a gist of what was alright in OotP and what bothered me about it, because initial feelings are basically, I can't wrap my head around the logic behind turning the longest book of them all into the shortest film.

But enough of that. I've been reading flist reviews, plenty of which have squeed and woed over certain scenes and stuff, but.

how powerful they're making Ginny? She got an exceptionally bright Patronus, for some reason. It was her spell in the Room of Requirement, during that scene when they were all taking turns casting spells, that made the mirror shatter, or something, and she was the one who cast that Protego (Was it the Protego?) that essentially turned the Department of Mysteries upside down.

Back in the FAP boards--ooh, who here remembers them? :P--I think I remember someone mentioning something about how Ginny, being the seventh daughter (of the seventh daughter, supposedly, but Molly seems to have only two older brothers whom we know) in seven (which is a guess--JKR said in several, which is clearly a few letters off) generations is Important and signifies Great Powers and perhaps An Important Role. :| Well, JKR says something about it too, over here, about more than halfway down, but here's the bit:

Does she have a larger importance; the Tom Riddle stufff, being the seventh girl —

The backstory with Ginny was, she was the first girl to arrive in the Weasley family in generations, but there's that old tradition of the seventh daughter of a seventh daughter and a seventh son of a seventh son, so that's why she's the seventh, because she is a gifted witch. I think you get hints of that, because she does some pretty impressive stuff here and there, and you'll see that again.

That was, of course, before the fourth movie came out, and a little after the sixth book was released, but still. They were actually making note of it in OotP, perhaps as some form of foreshadowing?

Oh, and while we're at it. If there's any more doubt that Harry's the last Horcrux, let me point you to Chamber of Secrets (bold mine):

"[sic] Unless I'm much mistaken, he transferred some of his own powers to you the night he gave you that scar. Not something he intended to do, I'm sure..."

"Voldemort put a bit of himself in me?" Harry said, thunderstruck.

"It certainly seems so."

From Chamber of Secrets, chapter 18, page 333 in the Scholastic paperback edition

You really can't get any more blunt than that, can you?

Was that not the greatest thumbs-up in the history of everything? XD

Anyhoo, yeah, Dumbledore did say that Nagini may be a horcrux, which could've been his hint to Harry that horcruxes are not confined to inanimate objects nudgenudgecouldbeyou. But this is something else I'm trying to ignore >_>

I'm not overally fond of canon Ginny, but it's partially the fault of fandom. I didn't mind her too much whilst reading, but other people's opinions of her rudeness corrupted me rapidly. I do very much love Bonnie's Ginny though, and I think she'll be great in six and seven.

HAH, yes, exactly! God I loved that episode so much. And in LotTL, when he slid inside his office and started dancing--I have much love for Simm, let me tell you. :P

And there's also that part where trying to AK Harry ended up in Voldemort losing much of what made him a person--probably, that was his soul finally being split into seven parts. And, on slightly stretched speculation, it could help explain the prophecy, about one being unable to live while the other survives, and if Harry were a descendant of Gryffindor (which is another rumour that's not quite died either) then this is possibly how Voldemort could not have realised that killing him would actually suck his soul in (as he needed something of Godric's or Rowena's, I think).

But again, that's wandering into even more speculation and I'm not too confident about those things anymore. It's just the whole bit concerning Harry that I'm going to look out for, really. :| Doesn't have to mean he'll DIE, though. :|

Oh, fandom. :P She's really--she's really neutral, for me, honest-to-goodness I could never really muster up either fondness or dislike for her. In the OotP film, though, yeah. I hope Bonnie does something fantastic with Ginny, in the same way Evanna nailed Luna. :P

He is made of awesome. The bit that killeded me most in LotTL was the sneaky-shimmy in his dressing gown over to gnome!Doctor in his cage, hair all dishevelled... And yes XD

if Harry were a descendant of Gryffindor

I think Jo pretty much shot that down somewhere in here. Which is a pity, I quite like where you were going with it :\ And yeah, Harry death? SO Do Not Want, which is why I don't go for the whole horcrux thing in the first place - it's nearly always accompanied by Harry Will DIE which = Noooo!

Evanna rocks beyond granite. Have you seen [livejournal.com profile] shocolate's post about meeting her in Tesco's? The girl is One of Us! Oh, the LOVE!

I love the soundtrack of that, seriously. It's so.. Master-y. :P (Although, still much love to Tennant, really. ♥ Why must we wait til Christmas again?)

Haha, I remember that too, so I'm not hanging on to that notion either. I'm sitting on the fence regarding Harry's death, to be honest--I'd not mind it, and I'd not mind if it never happened either, but I totally understand what you mean with his Horcrux-ness leading to death. (I'm sure JKR will find a way, though. I'm not SURE she's going to kill Harry--I'm scared Ron'll get axed instead. :|)

I think all of fandom probably loves her by now, and I went to read it, yes, that was positively awesome. :P Evanna's not on LJ, is she? :)) Probably wouldn't want to say.

*squishes DT* I cannot wait til Christmas. Am consoling myself with repeats on UKTV Gold, but it is Nine and thus not quite the same.

Ron, oh noes! If Ron, Neville or Luna died, I honestly believe I'll be drawing my pension with tears still running down my face :( Or McGonagall, for that matter, she has the win too. OR REMUS. But anyway, I could probably go looking for the spoilers on the internets now, but WON'T.

Evanna's not on LJ, is she?

Current evidence would indicate that she is omg. Non-LJers do not specifically mention LJ in passing with other fans. Thus, I am eyeing everyone with suspicion *eyes*

I shall cease spamming your entry now :P

I've got the ones of Ten and just the other day I watched all the Face of Boe episodes AND the Runaway Bride. :P

I really really REALLY want Ron to grow up, marry Hermione, and have many babies. :| And I have the last pages of DH and I don't want to read them at all, so.

Hahaha, it's interesting imagining how she would have been like with her LJ and stuff. :P And eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep, DH soon! :D

Just here to add more giggling and squeeing over the Doctor Who icon love. Awesome episode. And I just wanna say, for the record, that I called "Face of Bo!" when Jack turned around and said, "What if I live for a million years?" Totally called it. :D

Duuude! Heee! Bravo, I haven't been more blindsided by a plot twist since Snape on the Tower! Though Boe!Jack was considerably more squeeworthy.

Hehehehe... Boe!Jack was definitely more squee-worthy. Actually, the LOOK on the Doctor's face was PRICELESS. That was the best part of the scene. Takes a lot to surprise that man.

The thing is, I kept TRYING to say it out loud, as soon as I heard the "What if I live a million years?" line, but my girlfriend kept saying, "NO! Be quiet! You HAVE to hear this part!" And I kept trying to say, "NO! Listen, I know who that is! It's the Face of Boe!" And she kept shushing me... until I said, after the fact, "You know, I was TRYING to say that." That's when she looked at me, dumbfounded, because she hadn't figured it out until the actual statement floored her. (She saw the episode before me.) Either way, very funny, best plot twist EVER.

I'm looking at your icons now... I need some Doctor Who icons. *envies*

I need more! You can absolutely never have enough Who icons :) Problem is I don't have any HP ones, atm.

*cracks up at icon* Goddammit, P, I want my Jack ageless and gorgeous. *cuddles him* And I didn't realise you watched Who too. :P Does that include Torchwood, by pseudo-default?

LOL... I think I like the fact that Jack manages to grow up over the course of a few million years. Actually, it makes me deeply ponder what he might have done over the course of his life.

And yeah, I just got into Doctor Who recently. My fiancee, [livejournal.com profile] fiona_fawkes, has sucked me into it. I just caught up, actually, and now I'm going to begin watching Torchwood. *grins*

(And I really need some Who icons.)

He's done a lot, clearly, as he's managed to sponsor the viewing of the end of Earth and stuff, and is widely respected and known.

Hahaha, good for her. :P Torchwood is mad. Well. It's a different Jack, tbh, from the one we see in Who, but second season's supposed to bring the old Jack back, since he DID end up wanting to be in Torchwood at the end of Who. *squishes him*

(Don't we all, haha. I would have gladly ganked the prettiest Ten icons if doing so didn't mean I had to remove ALL my icons from my paid account days. Hmm, I'm sure there's a mood theme somewhere, though. There has to be one. :P)
