slumber: (GA: not boring at all)
Since this entry I feel like I can say nothing else that is more interesting or more amusing, so I'll go for the opposite and bore you to tears. See my icon be ironic. Hahaha.

  • I got a part time job starting yesterday and consequently overslept for it.
  • I have got a major oral and written presentation due next Tuesday and even though it's group work, I'm essentially micromanaging it and I haven't written anything for the paper yet.
  • I will be out of town on the one weekened before the project. Shall be in New York from Friday to Sunday.
  • I have 45 minutes until the bus to the downtown campus arrives, and instead of being productive I am contemplating catching up on Heroes. (I probably won't, but I'll likely not be productive either.)
  • I still need to do my laundry tonight when I get back home at like, 10pm. Fun.

On the bright side:

  • I had another presentation/homework/project due on Monday which required research, but thankfully the research topic overlapped with what I was already doing for Tuesday, so yesterday I just sent my bits to my groupmates.
  • I will have money to pay for the swanky ivory coat I ordered. :|
  • The quarter will soon be over.

QUESTION: If the Harry Potter series were real, and somewhere in an alley between a bookstore and an audio store Diagon Alley bustles to life, and-- wait, hang on.

Which BNF do you think will most likely fit in with the world of Harry Potter and why? :|

Yes, of course this question is important. :| OH MY GOD I THINK I KNOW WHO. *ponders*

If you are 18-34 years old and female, you're just who I need, and if you'd please go over HERE, please please answer my survey? It's not going to take more than five minutes of your time, I swear!

Yes, it's still for school. :\ It's an extension of the last project, actually. :|

Thank you so very much. ♥
slumber: (Default)
Guys, if you'd like to help put me through grad school, would you mind answering this survey for me please? Thanks. :D

As stolen from [livejournal.com profile] h3llybean:

I will send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment here on my blog. I don't know what that gift will be yet, but you will receive it within 365 days. The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making a similar agreement on your blog.

Nothing spectacular, since I'm not too good with crafts, but I'll figure something out. :D

(Leave me your address/postbox too, as I'm screening comments. Again. :|)

ETA: I have one more person who can reply!

Leaving for the airport in approximately six minutes, leaving the country (for what could be two years or more :|) in around four and a half hours. Should be back in a week or so, perhaps from my cousin's house or my brand-spanking new dorm. :|

Leave me love, darlings. ♥
slumber: (Default)
Let me take this opportunity to extend [livejournal.com profile] thethirdbar's birthday just a tad by greeting her before it's even the 26th where she is. (The rule, unfortunately, cannot apply to [livejournal.com profile] ant_power, who is ahead me by two hours.)

Nevertheless. :|

Happy birthday, S and Ant! :D Here's to a fabulous day ahead, and more fabulous birthdays to come! *cheers*
slumber: (Default)
Guys.

JUST when I told myself that thank GOD I was leaving this house and will therefore no longer be associated with the newly painted mustard yellow walls and mint green accents (I cry from the blatant abuse of sensible colour combinations, and at the fact that I am related to the man who thought they would be great)...

[livejournal.com profile] miss_charmed gives me granny panties, for proud display on my user info.

*cracks up*

Guys guys GUYS.

GUESS WHO'S ON LJ SPOTLIGHT?

Hee. It's kinda like adoring an indie band for ages and then seeing them make it to mainstream BUT not wangsting about how I SAW THEM FIRST THEY'RE MINE, DAMMIT, I SHOULD HAVE DIBS.

DIBS.

I am so proud. ♥ :D

*cough*

In other news, things are sort of coming together in some parts and falling apart in others, although mostly academic things are eating up what's left of my life, and [livejournal.com profile] thethirdbar has been missing for days. *pokes*
slumber: (House: don't push till it breaks)
I never could get the hang of Thursdays.

Right, so. In the interest of worldwide social phenomena, as [livejournal.com profile] mijan wondered about in her last entry, I would like to know just how many people are having bad days today (Or, well, in the last few days, at least, just most of them culminating today). As I'm basically from the future, let me start with me and my friends:

  • Moi: Reformatted my laptop, found out the net still refused to work, spent money on a wireless router, wasted the whole evening configuring everything and re-installing all my old programs, and as I was in the middle of writing a paper due that day, the power went out. Helpless, I napped for two hours, woke up to find the power back on, finished the paper and began working on the other, also due that day. And yes, the power went out again. I finished the paper at school, looked for a place to print it, and found I saved it wrongly, because MS Word 2007 files need to be saved as MS 97-03 docs in order for them to be opened by 97-03 versions. I also left my cellphone at home today.==

  • L: Running for Vice Chair of the whole student government, found out today she had to pull in 600 more votes in order to win. She's a good girl, but she's in the wrong party. There IS no right party.

  • N: Her brother stole the family Pajero and eloped. Again. With his depressive girlfriend. Two months before graduating high school.

  • J: Jogs, plays frisbee, climbs walls. Last Tuesday she caught a cold, yesterday she lost her voice, and today she sprained her ankle. While walking down the stairs.

There's more than that, but I don't feel right discussing everything here. In any case, you see the point. :|

SO TELL ME. How has your day (or anyone else you know, for that matter) sucked? Usually I hate being so negative, but. Let's make a list. :| (A list DOES exist, right? The universe IS doing this to more than just the people I know? :|)
slumber: (GA: when did we get old?)
On the Internet

Nothing comes up when I google Trojan Horse Generic2.JGX or Trojan Horse BackDoor.Generic3.WCY and I kind of need to know what they are because I had them. :| Would anyone know where I can look? :\

On Civil Rights Issues

In the meantime, here's an interesting topic of discussion. In a nutshell, it's this: Britain's implementing anti-gay discrimination laws, but is considering allowing Catholics to opt out of it because it would be against their beliefs in marriage and family if they were to let gay couples adopt children from their adoption agencies. (And if Britain says they have to follow the laws anyway, the agencies are more likely to shut down because, a cardinal says, they might lose funding.)

Does the religion retain their right to their beliefs if the state has said otherwise? And why? (Consider religious freedom vis a vis civil liberties gay rights. After all, isn't religious freedom in itself a civil liberty?)

On Musicals

  • [livejournal.com profile] miss_charmed gave me a copy of the Wicked stage production with Idina Menzel, Kristen Chenoweth, and Randy Harrison as Boq. :P

  • Avenue Q is going to be staged here. :D Auditions are going to be on Feb 20 and, due to my prodding, a friend from high school is going to try out for Gary Coleman. (I swear she's perfect for the role.)

  • They are also adapting High School Musical to the stage. :| And I know someone who's in the cast ensemble. It's on February 23-25 and I've already made plans to watch it with friends. The HSM craze is still somewhat strong, it appears. :|
slumber: (bored)
So before paid time runs out, I thought I'd change the journal layout. I'd wanted something subtler and more barely there buuuuut I've no codes on hand and anyway, yeah, the pink called to me. :\ [livejournal.com profile] slumber

I need to know what to do with the layout. I'm still not completely sold on the pinkness. Heeeeelp. (OR should I go with something like the layout in [livejournal.com profile] mmacdougal?)

[Poll #898442]
slumber: (have in me a little faith)
It's a rather sad thing but whoever's been giving me hugs over the past few days (and I could tell, it was 2420 before, then it was 2422, and now it's 2430) has consistently been making my day. Days. Owe up, I love you madly.

ETA: No, seriously, screw "I want to remain anonymous." Tell me who you are? Let me cling to you. :|
slumber: (huh)
You know Mugglecast? For people who do, download Episode 14. If you have it already, there's a girl on voicemail who identifies herself as [livejournal.com profile] celeni.

That, dear friends, is a friend of mine. She's a fan of HP but in a way that's different from how I'm a fan of HP, but she's pretty cool. I love her skirts.

Haha, I just thought I'd let you know.

Although if she makes an embarrassment of herself in the podcast, I claim no responsibility.

Christmas card offers are still up here.

As is the anon meme. What was your worst decision ever?

***

[livejournal.com profile] hp_kris_kringle! You know you want to. XD

Oh. And a general, random throw-out question to all, to assist a certain clueless friend of mine who shall remain nameless:

Without saying it outright, without buying them anything, and without public displays of affection, how can you tell someone that you love them? (And, alternatively, how can you tell that someone loves you?)

Any input is appreciated.

♥♥♥

  1. [livejournal.com profile] hp_kris_kringle - Anyone remember this? Christmas drabble exchange thingy ring a bell? :P Yes, well, anyway, it's relatively stress-free to run, so I thought it should go again this year. :D In any case, sign ups begin today, so if you'd like to head on over to read the rules and sign up over here then it would be much appreciated, thanks.

Pimping, also, would be rather good. *beams winningly*

  2. Christmas Cards - If you want one, just leave name and address in a comment in this post. I'm screening everything. And I live halfway across the world, probably, so don't you worry about being stalked or anything. :D
slumber: (Default)
Okay, I haven't been online a while and omg I tried to read my flist but I can't comment enough. Update me with your lives I want to hear from you all. :D Also, it would be a sin to miss birthdays but I hope [livejournal.com profile] foxtrot_pasta and [livejournal.com profile] passo forgive me. I love you both. *kisses*

Anyway. Yes, will update when I've more sense with me. :|

So. Rather productive two days. I ended up writing more in that span of time than I did in the past month, I think.

I got my Roger/Cedric whee!

It was one of those things he had to do. They were in a fucking rosebush, her face was two inches from his, and she was a pretty blonde thin French girl named after a flower. If he didn’t kiss her, he wouldn’t be male.

*schnoogles to [livejournal.com profile] sparklychibi*

And. Okay. The fruits of my labour:

  • Harry/Charlie (300 words, PG)

Things never came easy for Harry. That was rather quite obvious, in fact, and he’d spent most of fifth year capitalising at the world for that, but of all the things that made life more difficult, Ron was the unexpected topnotcher.

  • Harry/Ginny (200 words, PG)

There was a story once, tucked between a poem and a tale of knights and quests, of a perfect, short life traded in for a longer, tragic story trapped in the pages of a gift. She wonders if she’d made that choice.

(Bonus points to whoever guesses what that story is. :|)

  • Ron/Pansy (1000 words, PG13)

“Will you be taking my spare room tonight, or is this the kind of night when she storms into my flat and I’ll have to go amuse myself in a coffee shop while you have mad make-up sex?” he wearily asked one night. Ron stared blankly.

“Ronald Weasley, I know you’re in there!”

“Coffee shop it is,” Harry sighed, looking for the silver lining of his dark, Slytherin-shaped cloud.

Yay, flist love? *snugs to all*
slumber: (dorky)
So. Back. What'd I miss?

PS. No, seriously, tell me what's going on in your life, I really need to know or else I won't be able to figure out what you're talking about in your LJs anymore and then I'd feel kinda stupid because I'm a terrible friend. :|

PPS. Oh. I also wrote a Theo-centric fic.

And how the fuck do I write Gaiman a letter? His site's useless wah I want him to know the 'special 1 of a thousand edition written by Gaiman' note I got with my copy of Anansi Boys was sweet. :|

jetsam_porridgeCharli: LOVE YOU x A MILLION
slumberEvy:  LOVE YOU EVEN MORE!!
jetsam_porridgeCharli:  LOVE YOU MOST.
slumberEvy:  LOVE YOU EVEN MORE THAN THAT
jetsam_porridgeCharli:  LOVE YOU TO INFINITY.....AND BEYOND!
slumberEvy:  LOVE YOU WITH THE POWER OF THE FORCE.

I'm afraid to say it, but it does appear like I'm losing. :|

hookedontherushHetty! You must talk to me and catch me up with You-Know-What. :|

ALSO. Cookies to anyone who can send me The Noose by A Perfect Circle. Pretty brilliant lyrics, hee.

***

Who can tell I've been having fun with Semagic? :|

The Longest Yard was actually pretty hilarious, for a football flick. It has not, however, helped me write a) a reaction paper to a film I saw three weeks ago, b) a recommendation letter for myself due tomorrow, and c) my last will and testament, after I kill myself for failing my exam on Wednesday.

EDIT: jetsam_porridgeCharli is collecting secrets for an art project. GO 'FESS UP AND PIMP IT TO OKAY? OKAY.
